I could have locked the thread if I wanted to but I didn't. I guess if you boys want to continue to pile on then you can just go ahead and do that.

    Sorry, insomnia destroys my reverence.

Maybe you can move this to the off-topic discussions?

You all are just like the waifs. I'm used to it.

Well, that's the first time in quite a while an allusion forced me to do some research. Do you mean that we are Up All Night?

    From dictionary.com

waif   /weɪf/ Show Spelled[weyf] Show IPA
    –noun
1.a person, esp. a child, who has no home or friends.
2.something found, esp. a stray animal, whose owner is not known.
3.a stray item or article: to gather waifs of gossip.

They typically are not ignorant of social conventions, they simply don't observe them. I was a waif in Boston. It's such a college town there are many waifs. We found/find each other.

Just to be clear, the option isn't "revoked"; DegreeInfo has never allowed editing or deletion of posts beyond the edit period (5 or 10 minutes) since 2001, when the board started. Additionally, our Terms of Service, to which you must agree when registering to post, make it pretty clear what our policy is.

One of the reasons for this is the integrity of the board. If we were to allow wholesale deletion of posts, then a lot of the information that the message archive contains that can be useful when searching out information on schools and programs could be lost. Likewise, removal of posts from threads could alter the context and meaning of some of the threads. So that's why we've opted, since the beginning, to not allow editing or deletion of posts past the self-edit period except in unusual circumstances. It's a policy that, in 9 years, has served us well, with complaints that I can perhaps count on one hand. Out of almost 10,000 users, that's pretty impressive.

Oh no, not Beck, not BEEEEEECK!!!

LOL- I almost posted this same picture, but I wasn't sure if anyone would get the reference to an unfounded, lunatic, socialist conspiracy.

I've been a member since 2001 and never received spam that originated from this forum.
How do you know the spam you receive it was related to degreeinfo?

Now, was that unfounded, lunatic, socialist conspiracy or vast right wing conspiracy? In my old age, I always mix up those two. :)

The same situation, interpreted by a wing-nut of whatever orientation, could be considered either.
