    Kizmet: "...subsequent blackmail schemes ..."

I've often wondered how much of that has gone on. When the US Secret Service made public the list of more than 10,000 Americans who had bought fake degrees from St. Regis University, and it was put on the Spokane newspaper's web site, that seemed a clear opportunity for opportunists, as it were.

Indeed. I remember that list - some of it anyway. Notable that some people - owners and staff from er, unaccredited schools - were "outed" as degree-buyers from their major competition - St. Regis.

But that was 10,000+ names. This is 2.4 MILLION! If the FIA or any other authority posts the entire file for public download, we'd better make sure we have database software that'll handle it - and a really good internet connection!

From the above article - Saleem Qureshi's testimony:

"Umair Hamid ... conveyed the message of Viqas Atique to go into hiding and gave me Rs25,000 for the purpose...."

That's $239! Hardly more than a bus ticket! What shameful pikers these multimillionaire Axact guys are! Poor, poor Qureshi - couldn't get decent pay!

Q: What should a hand-picked frontman/stooge be earning these days, anyway? Who's got the pay-scale?

    From the article:

"The FBI further confirmed that American online universities and Axact had been hand in glove with each other in palming off counterfeit degrees."
Very interesting indeed. Where was that reported? Did the FBI say which American online universities took part? What action will the FBI take, I wonder?
