Wow, a well-adjusted person. I'm not sure I know how to relate to you.

I test out as highly extroverted, but my personal experience is that I start the week extroverted and end the week introverted. My alone time on my boat on Friday nights is one of the highlights of my week... :)

I created a similar poll on the other forum awhile back. Most of the people who responded are introverts. I've heard that introverts dominate many online forums. They prefer asynchronous communication.

Of course, we're also more likely to be the ones sitting at home and so it's not surprising that most respondants would be introverts. If you take the survey in a night club you'll likely get the opposite result.

Nightclubs and parties; two of the things I hate to attend most. Camping, surfing or mountain biking with a group of friends; things I like most.

You are describing sociability, which is different from introversion/extroversion.

My profession requires a great deal of social interaction and I enjoy time together with family and friends. That said, when I can make the choice, solitude is a coveted commodity.

I am an extrovert, there are some occasions where I will observe or listen and don't talk, but doesn't make me an introvert.

Would it be too much for everyone to take a Meyers-Briggs test? If even possible. That would be interesting I think.

Yeah, maybe too much. Interesting though.

I could probably win a "who's the most introverted" contest. Been like that for 70 years. I socialize only with a small group who all have my last name. I gave up Facebook because I got a bit bored, always seeing "Johann has 0 friends." Actually, I prefer things this way. No desire to change.

Forums, including this one, are a great vehicle for introverts - no personal contact, nothing at stake. Wonderful place, the Internet. Like they sang on Broadway:

    "Something appealing,
    Something appalling.
    Something for EVERYONE
    Our comedy, tonight."

(A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum - Stephen Sondheim, 1962)

INFP and psych major. Though I arguably straddle the line of introversion and extroversion from time to time.

BTW - someone mentioned Myers-Briggs test. I've been the beneficiary of a Myers Briggs, a Kuder, a full-whack MMPI and more personality and aptitude tests than most lay people (non-psychologists) can think of! Sum total: I'm supposed to be extremely rebellious, colourful (whatever that means) creative and have an unusual memory. It's said I work best locked away from other people -- and they prefer it, too.

"They" said I'd be happiest (not necessarily best as) a musician, writer, artist or (strangely) ...a librarian.

There are a lot of Meyer-Briggs-like tests offered online. I've taken a few, and they all say I'm INTJ.

When I took the MMPI, the results weren't explained to me. I was just certified emotionally stable enough to become licensed as a personal protection officer.

When I take career tests, the common careers recommended for me are IT/computer science, psychology, law enforcement, scientist, judge, professor, business manager, and military leader.

According to the tests, it's because I'm severely patience-challenged. None at all. That's part of what "they" thought made me do well as a bill-collector for many years. Could be, I guess ... certainly contributed to my divorce, as well.
