All I remember is that Moses' face was really overexposed.

What the student is paying for is a credential that allows them to sit for the bar and practice law in far more states than a Calbar JD would, at least without jumping through a lot of hoops. The information could be the same but the credential is unquestionably more valuable, particularly for anyone who does not plan on living in CA for the rest of their career.

"...does not plan on living in CA for the rest of their career."

    Exactly.

I think roughly half of the States will permit a California lawyer with 5 years practice experience to take their Bar exam so it is possible to migrate eventually.

Wow, INSTATE tuition at a UC law school is $108,000. Laverne is tens of thousands cheaper.

As I've posted elsewhere, going to university involves an exchange of capital. You give two and you get two. You give your money and your academic effort. They give you an education and a degree. They are two different things.

That it's not just what you learn at the school that is valuable; the credential awarded is valuable, too. It might even be worth paying more for.

I believe the entire 4 year program at CarBar accredited Northwest is under 30K. Also a lot of lawyers have gone virtual, you can live anywhere and practice law. California is a very large market. Most law is administrative and transactional; the minority of lawyers actually go to court and see clients in person. Most clients are happy enough to Zoom.
