Then how do you explain President Trump winning a second presidential election, thus serving a full eight years?

It isn't necessary to register to vote at the DMV. It can be done at libraries, at the county registrar of voters, at universities or any number of places.

Registering to vote doesn't require any proof of citizenship and seemingly depends entirely on an honor system in which people are trusted to tell the truth. (Seemingly with no significant downside for failing to do so. I've never heard of anyone being prosecuted for lying on their voter registration form.)

I think that requiring at least some evidence of citizenship for initial registration and then some ID to verify that the voter is who he/she says they are at the local precinct would be valuable steps against voter fraud.

The whole idea that this would somehow disenfranchise youth and minorities who are entitled to vote is foolishness. Just go to your local DMV and look at the crowd. Youth and minorities will be very well represented (probably 80-90% of the overflow crowd the last time I was at the DMV), eagerly seeking drivers licenses. If people have to produce satisfactory documentation at the DMV in order to get one of the new Real ID driver's licenses, then I don't see why it would be intolerable to require them to do something similar to register to vote.

The only people that would really be inconvenienced are those individuals who aren't legally eligible to vote. And isn't that the whole point?

Don't have to explain something that hasn't happened.

Please don't be insulting. I'm no less a patriot if I don't like Trump.

Ukraine, sure, but Canada's economic indicators compare with those of the U.S., at least here in the real world of non-alternative facts.

In other words, the handbasket will be festooned with "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN".

Kind of reminds me of those "If you are not with us, you are against" slogans from the GWB days.

Also, compared to Ukraine, U. S. was not a victim of a famine-genocide engineered by Stalin and in general did not get a pretty raw deal all of the XX century, ok? By gloating about his genetic lottery win, me again is being a terrible human being. Term "basket of deplorables" comes to mind.

...plus, they lost the popular vote. Pretty pathetic for a populist movement.

Hi heirophant. That is true. Some foreigners are hyper-critical and hyper-opinionated about how Americans should believe, vote and operate politically. Conversely, it's ironic that those same foreigners are also hyper-critical of other foreigners, who are also expressing their foreign opinions about how American politics should operate:
    - Ukrainians are critical of Russians for voicing opinions about American politics
    - Russians are critical of Ukrainians for voicing opinions about American politics

American politics has become a stage for foreigners to forcefully tell Americans:
    - what to do
    - how to do it
    - how to believe
    - what to believe

Americans don't need foreigners to tell them what to do. When foreigners bring law, order and prosperity into their own countries, only then will they have a precedent to tell Americans "how to do things right." But as long as there is chaos, disorder and bloodshed in their own nation, they should focus their attention there - first.

It's ironic that when aliens illegally smuggle themselves into the United States, the socialists object to:
    - noting that it is against the law and is an arrestable offense
    - using the term "illegal"

"Borders" create nations. Without borders, there are no sovereign nations. That basic concept offends those who are trying to replace the American Constitution with socialism.

More Americans died in the Civil War (1861) than all other wars combined e.g. the Revolutionary War (1776), WWI, WWII, Korean War (1950s), Vietnam, the Middle East, etc.

All goodness and mercy and prosperity comes from above. It is not based on genetics. All blessings come from the Lord. It is all provided by the Him.

Stanislav, why do you bring race and genetics into politics? It has nothing to do with genetics. Instead, "me again" gets to enter the kingdom of Heaven:
    - not because of who he is (not because of genetics)
    - but exclusively because of whose he is (because of who he belongs to)
He belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. Period. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about that. Not even a maybe!

Again, genetics and race are moot. If a Christian is as black as charcoal or olive skinned or as pale as snow -- they are all covered by the blood of Jesus -- and though their sins be as scarlet, they will be as white as snow!

Shout it out from the rooftops!

You have decided you are going to enter the kingdom of Heaven? Are you absolutely so sin free that you have decided you are automatically going to heaven. God decides that, not you, unless you have the ability to walk on water that is.

Oh FFS, this is a discussion about political economy, not religion.

Besides, religious fervor and individual wealth are negatively correlated, so if all blessings come from the Lord then He has a mysterious way of showing who's on the right track.

Neither do foreigners need Americans to tell them what to do, and yet the U.S. is the world's most meddlesome country.

Are you seriously suggesting that the U.S. is the only country on Earth with law, order, and prosperity?

Yeah, I notice me again always changes the subject to religion when things aren't going his way. Just sayin

Some people make a correlation between politics, religion, genetics and economics. In your discussion, you make an inverse correlation between religious fervor (more) and individual wealth (less).

You could make a short-term earthly case for that, such as in the story of Lazarus and the rich man in Luke 16:19-31. Seriously though, God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise of this world, as is described in 1 Cor. 1:18-31. In the long-term, it's safer to place your bets on the reality of heaven. Place your bets very carefully because the security of your eternal soul depends on your final decision.

Other countries look at your Civil War and think it was cute. Read "Bloodlands" by Timothy Snyder: it's about my corner of the world, and cover only a few decades in the first half of XX century. Your Civil War only took what, around 1 million? on both sides? Pfeh! The Holocaust and the Holodomor EACH took more CIVILIAN lives than the US lost in all wars in all its history.

And now you looking down on us all the way from the other side of the ocean is deplorable, and makes you a terrible human being. But the Lord has the power to forgive you if you repent. And St. Paul teaches us not to brag about it.

Oh Abner, things are going good. Very good! We have Donald Trump in office for the next eight years. There are no complaints about that on this end. It's all good.
