    RMM,

Is there any reason why ABD at Northcenral University, instead going extra miles to complete your Doctorate? I am sorry if you have expressed it before.

It is a long and sad story, but it worked out really well for me. I asked for an extension at 6.2 years, and they denied me, even though I had a 4.0 average. (I am still steamed that they would not even offer an MBA or certificate, so I have nothing to show for over six years of work).

However, in retrospect, it was the best thing that happened to me, since my body of research moved to University of Free State, where they have provided constructive comments without the BS of format and arcane formulaic content matters (I am sure that there will be some of this at the end of the process, but for now, they concentrate on the content) . My research has evolved into a little researched area (interaction equivalency theorem at the doctoral level), and some of the key proponents of this theory are very interested in what I have done. I hope to wrap up the field study by the middle of November, and apply for the PhD program in January. Of course, I will use the field study in my dissertation.

Moral of the story: Sometimes life's setbacks are really vectors to a better path.

I can't beat 10, but then again I'm not a military brat, so 8 seems like a lot, especially when I buy transcripts!
Black Hawk College (CEU and UG transfer), Culinary Inst. of America (AOS degree), University of Iowa (UG transfer), Scott Community College (UG transfer), Ocean County College (UG transfer), Thomas Edison State College (AA & BA), Harvard University (grad courses), Canisius College (MS in progress)

    Hmm, here is my list:

    Undergrad:

Miami Dade College - Attended, did 9 credits only.
University of Miami - Attended one semester, classes way too expensive.
Florida International University - Attended one semester, classes way overcrowded. :eek5:
Rollins College - Very nice school in the Orlando, FL area, went there for one year.
Barry University - Graduated with a Bachelors of Public Administration. Went here basically for free. Combination of grants, and scholarship money. I had scholarships to University of Miami and Rollins, however, Barry offered the better deal.

    Graduate:

FIU - MBA started it, put on hold for now.
West Virginia University - Attended for one semester, lost interest in the program.
Nova Southeastern University - MBA program, campus based. Went there for one semester, really liked the school and the program, however, moved to Hawaii.
Chatham University - Writing program, graduated in 2011.
    Northwestern University - MPPA program.

    Certificates, civilian and military:

UCF - Insurance and risk analysis certificate.
Navy Cryptological School - Signals Collector Certificate
US Army MI School - Signals Analyst Certificate
National Security Agency - School of Cryptology: White Hat/Ethical Hacker Certificates. Signals Analyst Certificate, SIGINT.

Sorry, to hear your sad story at NCU. Wow, NCU is that heartless? Nova Southeastern University gives students up to 10 years to complete their Doctorate; even though extension will be granted on basic. Have you looked into any school for Ph.D yet?

Oh, and the 11 above are all RA schools. I forgot to mention that I also completed a certificate program in Visual Basic from what is now Penn Foster (DETC accredited). It was called Education Direct at the time.

Oops! I did miss one afterall: University of South Carolina (distance learning)
    I have taken classes from:

So for me, 12 different RA schools (I successfully completed at least one course at each, but multiple courses from several).

Plus I did a certificate program in with Education Direct (DETC accredited).

(I wish it was easier to edit so I didn't have to keep adding corrections :)

    Looks like I never answered.

    Bachelor's Level:
    Shepherd University (WV)
    Northern Virginia Community College
    Virginia Commonwealth University
    North Carolina Wesleyan College
    Strayer University
    Keiser University
Charter Oak State College (finished up here and soaked up all the credit from the above schools)

    Master's Level:
    George Washington University
Marymount University (VA) (took two courses here to transfer into my MA from GWU)

    Doctoral Level:
A.T. Still University (withdrew after my third term)
Northeastern University (withdrew during my second term)

There are a few other schools I don't count, since I withdrew in the first term and thus didn't earn credit. As you can see, I've always been okay with the "try it and see" approach.

Crap lol, I didn't add in any of the schools that I registered/withdrew before starting or any that I dropped during the first semester. I don't even want to think about it <cough>
