I am from Singapore. I am looking at getting a DBA, the cheapest DBA that is recognised. I found some cheap ones in Malaysia. Wondering if they are ok? Any cheaper ones? Do recommend, thanks

What country? Recognition varies a lot.

Malaysia has some good schools and good distance offerings at reasonable prices. Not bottom-of-the-barrel cheap, but certainly below US prices. If you stick with Universities that have Ministry of Education approval, you should be OK. This can be checked online.

    From Google:

"Malaysia is only one of three countries in the world that have been named by UNESCO as World Education Cities. That means that if you study here, your studies are not only recognized in your home country, but also internationally."

OK. But you should still check with the country where you intend to use the degree for employment etc. They'll tell you what (if any) hoops you have to go through, for a foreign degree.

    1. UNESCO isn't in charge of that.
    2. Malaysia isn't a city.

@jackrussell , you can always check the nations around or near Malaysia as well, such as the ones within India, Philippines, etc. There are a few threads written on some of them here and the sister board, such as GlobalNXT DBA in Malaysia for $6K, there are the ones in Philippines such as AMA University DBA or DIT for $5K, and a few more. Sometimes it's best to do a search and compare as well as creating a 'short list' to select from and also have a couple as backup options...

Thanks, Steve. I didn't even stop to think about #1. I saw #2 and decided not to make a thing of it. Bad move. I should have.

@jackrussell , two things... You may want to go for a different Doctorate instead of the one at Aspen...

First off, if your signature is updated, you may want to find another option to transfer your Aspen U EDD. They're on show clause and on a 'teach out' plan... You gotta get your butt outta that institution ASAP and into a different one. Here's their info: https://directorysearch.deac.org/school/detail.aspx?schoolid=6

Here's the info I mentioned in my first reply: AMA U, Cebu Tech, Holy Angel, they either have Doctor of Tech or PhD in Tech Management

Since Singapore is English-speaking, consider degrees recognized in other, English-speaking countries like Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. There are other countries who are former colonies of the UK, but it can get a little dicey.
