Some may wonder why I chose Psychology of Women. Some (of both genders) may be suspicious -and that's quite prudent, I think :)

It happened this way. Since I got old, I get to talk to more women, of all ages. I think that's mainly because at 80, I present as a no-threat guy. And I have good clothes and clean up nice. :) I've observed that many young women arrive at adulthood with common sense and firm ideas of what they want in life and some plan to get there. They also know what kind of person they want to love.

Young men, just arriving at adulthood? A surprising number I've met don't show that kind of maturity - they go with the flow and don't have much of a plan. Some are still that way by 40. What I want to know is, why the difference? I don't really have a great handle on it yet, but I DO know - many of the reasons go back a long way in the evolutionary tree. It's gonna take years to do this properly... but I enjoy it. (And I'm not looking for a degree here.) :)

And that's a big reason armies have in the past been almost exclusively male.

"No threat male"? Hunh. I wonder. I REALLY wonder about that!

Here's your answer. It's also the big reason armies don't send 80-year-old guys into battle! :)

Based on the oficial website, the university is legit. The only thing is that you need to make sure that the doctorate you choose has the RVOE.

    Estado: CIUDAD DE MEXICO
    Institucion: UNIVERSIDAD DA VINCI

PS: No escolarizada = online. Also, you might find a better price by contacting the university directly or looking for other schools in Mexico.

Thanks, Manuel. Not a propio then. RVOE firmly attached. If the degree will get you where you want to go, fits your budget and your Spanish skills will get you through Doctoral study - ¡Adelante! - Go for it! :)

I think that the level of Spanish could be overlooked by some people. At at undergrad or graduate level, Google Translator won't help. Just because it is a cheaper doctorate compared to US tuition it does not mean that it will be easier. Think about how hard is to pass the TOEFL for non-English speakers. The same applies to English speakers trying to do the same in other languages.

My suggestion is to really know your skills before investing money and time in something that is almost impossible without knowing the language.

PS: I don't think that any of the Universidad CLEA 's degrees are worth the time and money. As mentioned before, Mexico has other options that are regulated and provide legitimate degrees. Just by looking at their website, it is hard to convince someone that it is a real university. I know it is but still not worth the time and money with their propios.

Thank you, Manuel, for confirming what I've said in this forum - more than a few times - sometimes getting a hot blast of denial from the "propio squad." :)

Where "denial" apparently means disagreement with you?

In that case yes. I said something and people said it wasn't so. Isn't that denial?

Denial : to declare (something) to be untrue. They denied the allegations. 2. : to refuse to admit or acknowledge (something) : disavow. denied responsibility for the vandalism. (Google)

Yes - and lots of people in it. And it's VERY heavily polluted, I think.

I remember TECH has a few doctorates with ROVE, but I am not sure if they are less than 8k.

CLEA degrees are in the range of 200 dlls. You cannot compare an MBA from a top ranked school like Mcgill that requires 2 years full time, GMAT, 100K, etc with a 200 dlls MBA from CLEA.

These programs are not game changers and are just meant to be continuing education for an existing career but not meant to prepare someone for a new career.

I agree that it is feasible to do an spanish language degree with the help of google translation and similar tools.
By the way, this platform normally offers degrees that can be completed with multiple choice questions. The dissertation probably is more applied in nature and most likely would accept work research projects.

One would need considerable language skills to understand lectures. Reading would be slow and cumbersome at best, using elecronic aids. Writing even more so. Especially advanced material with specialized vocabulary. I think your opinion comes from your own extensive knowledge of Spanish - and you underestimate the difficulties faced by those with lesser skills than your own.

No, gracias, señor. Estoy de acuerdo con Manuel en esto. (No, thanks, Sir. I'm with Manuel on this.)

    Well, he-he, LOL folks - a ticky-box multiple-guess degree ain't worth much, no-how. Don't matter who it's frum. An' if it sez it's a GRAD degree - e.g. MBA -- then it ain't worth spit.
