Kim has been making some progress, her doc seem very hopeful. The tumors appear to be shrinking little by little. The docs are amazed at how well Kim tolerates her chemo! Thank God for those of us who have good insurance. I feel bad for those that don't! Have a good day! Abner Ivora, P.S. I am the dude on Facebook with the tattoos. Some of you guessed it right.
This is GREAT to hear! I was concerned. Have prayed for you both, going to keep at it. God bless you and Kim!
Kiz is quite correct. I do not see the messages either, but then, I have no friends. (But seriously, I never friend anyone on Facebook because my FB page was hacked many years ago and I started getting e-mails that purported to be from my friends but were not. I wiped my FB page clean of everything.) That said, Steve Foerster has already said (in the other thread) that he saw (and he quoted) one of the relevant posts. T0 my knowledge, Steve was the only regular from DI who had friended Abner on FB. Although I do recall seeing a message or two from Jennifer on his page, I don't remember seeing her on Abner's friend list. It's all a great mystery. But based on Steve's corroboration, I think it's reasonable to conclude that Abner and Kim are, indeed, dead. Dead! Dead!!! Dead!!!!!! Personally, I'll miss them. But I love a good drama. Now, I recognize that we will never know why God allows these things to happen. But, because this is DI, I could speculate that it's because Abner's degrees were NA rather than RA. (Abner held a B.S. in Management from California Coast, and earned his M.B.A. from Aspen.) Perhaps, if he had gone the RA route, he might still be with us. Yet another reason that RA or the highway" is once again true.
that The very brief version . . . RA = Regionally accredited by one of the six regional agencies in the U.S., each of which is responsible for a particular part of the country. NA = Nationally accredited, usually meaning a specialized or program-oriented accrediting agency. Strange as it may seem, RA is more generally and universally accepted than NA. RA is the Cadillac, so to speak, of accreditation. Abner's alma mater are accredited by the DEAC, the Distance Education Accrediting Commission, which accredits only distance programs. All colleges and universities in California that have RA are accredited by WASC, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. This is why schools such as UCLA, USC, UC-Irvine, etc. will always have a higher level of acceptability than Abner's alma mater, California Coast and Aspen Universities. The RA versus NA issue is very commonly discussed here at DI, but since you're a newbie here I thought I'd give you a mini version. I'm generally an "RA or the Highway" guy, but the regulars here know that I'm joking when I apply that argument to Abner, about whom everyone here is very fond.
Steve, I am torn between liking your humor in difficult situations and being uncomfortable with the gravity of death being humorous; in both I am appreciative of you being you.
