Abner was very much respected on Degreeinfo. He was one of our favorite writers. A very humble person. Many of us followed the the journey of Kim always hoping for the best for them. It must be a very difficult time for their friends and families. Even though I didn’t personally know them, their passing has been difficult. Please let their family know that there is another community of loved ones sharing in their loss.

Abner wrote me frequently when I was away from this board. I hope I was helpful to him in those matters. RIP.

It is now almost ten days since Rhonda informed us of Kim's death, as well as noting that Abner died two weeks earlier.

Thus far, however, there have been no obituaries on either of them in their local daily newspaper (the Orange County Register). This is based on searching the Register on the whole, as well as the obit section, on the name Ivora.

Which raises the question: Are they really dead? Or do we have an Eddie Wilson scenario? (I know, it's an esoteric film reference, but I love creating homework for some of you to help with your research skills.)

In the meantime, the closest we can come to concluding that they might be dead is this:

Abner would PM me once in a while - just to see what I was up to ... We had interests in common and some great conversations. As do many others, I miss him. A fine guy.

My condolences to his family - and, of course, Kim's.
