Do you know what the words "numerator" and "denominator" mean? I was assuming yes, but given your response perhaps I shouldn't have done so.

    Kizmet, that's a fair question. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3:

    1. Leftists, socialists and the DNC (via the corporately purchased MSM) have scripted the "Fake News" mantra alleging that President Donald Trump colluded with Russians.

2a. No evidence has been produced supporting the allegation.
2b. No evidence will ever be produced.
    2c. It's a yuge lie. LOL

    3. The Fake News script of "collusion" is repeated ad nausum by the dishonest owners of the MSM.

There's nothing in your answer that specifically references statements from the article. Please cite specific statements from the article that are lies or otherwise fake.

Yes, you think you're being quite clever but it has become clear that you actually are unable to answer the question. I'll even accept an answer from any other member. Show me something from the cited article that is a lie or otherwise "fake."

You're lucky. Half the time when he's in that position he reverts to quoting irrelevant parts of the Bible.

SteveFoerster, it's all relevant, although a proper contextual understanding and exegetical analysis should always be applied. BTW, have you reached your dissertation proposal and/or when do you begin your dissertation?

For example, Mathew 4:5 shows that Satan likes to quote Scripture. It's relevant.

Stanislav, as you aptly noted, the devil knows the Word of God. He deceptively used it in Genesis 3:1-7 to wrest the earth away from Adam and Eve. An infamous demonic recipic tactic is to:
    1. take a lie
    2. mix it with the truth
    3. thus enhancing the deceptive appearance of legitimacy of the lie

Conversely, the Lord ingeniously wrested the earth away from the devil by the Lord's crucifixion on the cross at Calvary.

    MSM Fake News

Being a partisan American is fine. That's not the issue. However, being a partisan news network that claims to be non-partisan is a moral issue.

The MSM was formerly non-partisan (primarily in the last Century) and was world renown for being independently objective with news. Anchors, journalists and reporters were prohibited from inserting opinions or lies (fake news) into their stories. However, those days are long gone because the MSM was purchased by socialistic leftists who began using the MSM platform as a partisan bullhorn to announce fake news (lies) to achieve their ideology. The MSM has a documented and systemic history of using anonymous or unnamed sources as a fake news platform to achieve their ideology. The vast majority of Americans see right through the charade, which is why:
    - The MSM has lost credibility with honest and objective Americans
    - Internet clicks to MSM websites are stopping
    - Internet clicks on bombastic fake news titles (lies) are stopping
    - MSM TV news is dying

Subsequent to the above, MSM revenues are quickly eroding, which financially hurts socialistic leftists who purchased MSM outlets.

The public no longer needs to rely on the MSM to receive news and information because the internet is the new American access point for sending and receiving information. The MSM is technologically obsolete, except for breaking news. President Trump speaks to Americans directly via Twitter, thus bypassing the MSM.

As an example, the NYT is financially hemorrhaging because...

Written by a "professor of journalism" at NYU.

So, if we are supposed to say 'good riddance' to 'objective journalism', then why should we give any respect to the journalistic profession and to teachers of journalism? Why does this guy continue to have a job teaching journalism? What's left to teach?

He argues that journalists are purveyors of opinion and always have been (especially in the 18th and 19th century). Well, why does one need a university education to push one's opinions? Everyone can do it.

If he tries to talk about better sources of information, about fact-checking and about presenting more logical or coherent arguments, then 'objectivity' would seem to be slipping back in through the back door. (How is it that journalism professors are supposed to be able to teach those things in the first place? They aren't epistemologists or logicians.)

There's a covert assertion here that the New York Times', the Washington Post's or CNN's opinions are better than the average American's opinions, and that the opinions of those trained at NYU journalism school are better, and should be more persuasive to those of us in the 'herd'.

    But... why?

That needs argument, and given his rather "postmodern" thesis I don't think that he's in any position to provide it.

I agree. The New York Times, the Washington Post, and NPR (among others) are overtly opposed to the current administration, and while I agree with them for being so, their integrity suffers when they won't come out and admit it.

As usual, you forgot to include mainstream media that are partisan on your side, including Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Times, and many more. If anything, we're in an era similar to the partisan yellow journalism era as described by Kizmet's article. That's probably a bad thing, but it's not one-sided.

It does seem to be more difficult these days for left-leaning media to make a profit than right-learning. The New York Times is laying people off, while the Washington Times is finally profitable after having required two billion (with a B!) dollars in subsidies from the Moonies since its founding in 1982.

That doesn't mean, however, that right-leaning media is more ethical or accurate than left-leaning media. And speaking of ethics in reporting, I get it that using over-the-top rhetoric is exciting, but "socialistic" is not a synonym for "left of center" any more than "fascist" is a synonym for "conservative".

You're vastly overestimating the novelty of this. U.S. presidents have addressed the American people without intermediaries since FDR's fireside chats in the 1930's. That doesn't mean there's no value to context provided by media, even if it's increasingly difficult to find media that provides that context without spin.
