MSM Mayhem & Lies & Fake News

The above MSM garbage was from yesterday. Today (Sunday 6.11.17) the MSM is off to a brisk braggadocios start. Here is today's listing of MSM's lies and fake news from yahoonews.com:

    22. Seth Meyers says Donald Trump is like "druggie cousin"
Watch: Seth Meyers Mocks James Comey Hearing, Says Donald Trump is Like 'Druggie Cousin'

    23. Meeting with Trump is like being waterboarded (torture)

Kellyanne Conway's Husband Breaks Silence And Condemns Trump's Twitter Habits

    29. Salma Hayek describes when Donald Trump tried to ask her out
Salma Hayek described the time Donald Trump tried to ask her out

The MSM's barrage of Fake News continues unabated. The MSM has no journalistic credibility and does not reflect the will of the people, but reflects the political and financial will of those who are completely out-of-touch with the United States electoral college.

    LOL haaaaa

All of the Trump articles were posted at yahoonews.com. However, for verification purposes, all of the original sources are located -- and then the links are posted here (adjacent to the bombastic article-titles).

It aptly demonstrates how low the MSM has sunk.

So your real point is not about the mainstream media as a whole, it's about Yahoo! News as an aggregator. That's the problem with relying on anecdotal evidence.

Look, I'd agree with you that the majority of mainstream media outlets (Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Times being notable exceptions) publish many stories unflattering to Trump. Even a recent Harvard report agrees with that. But that doesn't mean much, because that's only unfair if he's not a crappy president (and it's clear there's little point arguing about that).

The concept is simple and there are no hidden tricks. The purpose is to allow a reader to make his own observations -- and then to draw his own conclusions. Conversely, wicked MSM owners (via editors) draw false conclusions for readers -- and then make contrived or skewed observations to support those fake news conclusions. MSM owners are using top down logic (deductive reasoning) in an attempt to influence readers, instead of using bottom up logic (inductive reasoning) to allow readers to make their own conclusions.

Bombastic MSM news cycles do not not reflect the will of the American people

The above is the first round of Sunday's MSM garbage (Sunday 6.11.17). In only three hours, yahoonews.com has already added the following bombastic titles to their Fake News smorgasbord:

    30. Actress Salma Hayek Asked Out by Trump on ‘The Daily Show’
Actress Salma Hayek Discusses Her New Movie and Getting Asked Out by Trump on

    31. Trump facing ‘most serious scandal’ in U.S. history

    33. Brits don't want Trump to visit UK
    https://uk.news.yahoo.com/yippee-reaction-news-donald-trump-wont-visit-uk-brits-dont-want-143146614.html

    34. Does Trump Want to Postpone UK Visit Until British People Like Him?
Does Trump Want to Postpone UK Visit Until People Like Him More?

    35. Trump UK visit on hold until British people support him

    36. Trump Seeks 'Drastic Remedy' to Derail Kids Lawsuit
    https://www.ecowatch.com/writ-of-mandamus-climate-lawsuit-2439033764.html

MSM bias is clear and they have lost all journalistic credibility. The relentless bombastic news titles do not not reflect the will of the people. President Donald Trump will be reelected to serve a second term in the United States.

CNN still does breaking news well. But they start to unravel when news events aren't breaking and they start filling all the dead air time with "analysis" (another word for opinion). CNN's editorial management have very strong biases that they are more and more willing to push front-and-center. It's gotten a lot worse since Trump's election, obviously, but it was already there before. We saw it in how they ran Ferguson and 'Black lives Matter' as their lead story for at least a month, devoting a huge amount of air time to it. That was clearly an editorial decision about what news story they thought was most important.

Yeah, I've stopped watching them too, most of the time. I'll still dip in occasionally if something big is breaking, a terrorist attack in Paris or something.

I find myself watching Fox Business quite a bit. It's my favorite media outlet at the moment. CNBC is perhaps the least biased network.

Fox News obviously has biases of it's own, it would be foolish to deny it. Sometimes they come across as the voice of the Republican party. But I've always kind of liked them because their viewpoint is one that we rarely see expressed on what can sometimes seem like Chinese communist media, all putting out the exact same Democratic party-line. Fox at least has an alternative party-line.

BBC is kind of the British CNN, hugely biased despite their taxpayer funding. Don't expect any kind of objectivity from them.

I'm not convinced that unbiased objective professional journalism exists any longer. Assuming that it ever existed and that my sense that it once did wasn't just my youthful naivete.

Journalism seemingly exists to promote the political views of its editors, writers and pundits, in hopes of influencing what the broader public believes and what they think. Generally speaking, nationally influential jounalists represent very similar big-city elites in a handful of large cities, they were indoctrinated at the same universities, they drink at the same bars, they show up at the same parties and they know all the same people. In many cases they seem to me to be writing to win the approval of their friends and colleagues. So the whole thing turns into a mono-ideological echo-chamber.

That's why they totally missed Trump's election and how he won 30 states. The national journalists don't live in those states and they don't mix either socially or professionally with anyone who voted for Trump.

I have no argument with (a) since if Me Again says that Bible is his preferred citation, then it probably is. He's describing his own preferences.

My question regarding (b) would probably be, 'greatest reference on earth' regarding.... what? I'm not a Christian, so what circumstances would lead me to consult the Bible as a reference?

  11. Phdtobe

    Phdtobe Well-Known Member

For breaking news CNN is still the best. There was a time when 90% of my tv viewing was CNN regardless of who was in the White House. Because, there were bad and good news. I felt informed.

  12. me again

    me again Well-Known Member

heirophant, that's a fair assessment. If you're not a Christian, then you probably would not consult the Bible. From a Christian's perspective, the Bible is God's written word and it's his historical perspective of the past, the present and the future. The following is an over-simplification of Christian beliefs:

    1. The Lord Jesus Christ existed before ***"time" was created. Jesus was known as the "Word of God" during his pre-incarnate existence. He created all things that we can see -- and that we cannot see.

    2. Adam and Eve were the first created humans. They sinned against God, thus separating humans from God.

    3. The Word of God (Jesus) was born into this earth as a man, specifically as the Lord Jesus Christ. His willing death on the cross, followed by his resurrection, has restored our relationship with God. He promised to return to this earth to reclaim it. He will most definitely return.

    4. The only way to get to heaven is through Jesus, by accepting him with all our heart. But some people ask, "what about the person who has never even heard of Jesus?" Well, if they go to heaven, then it is still through Jesus. Heaven is a kingdom and Jesus is the king. He alone determines who will (and who will not) enter his kingdom.

    5. The Bible is the "Word of God" because it is his word to us. That is why Christians cite it so much.

***Note: "Time" is a created thing that we are currently subject to. Once we enter eternity (at our mortal death), then we enter into a timeless eternity, either in heaven or in hell.

The following is a general statement to anyone who would like to go to heaven to spend eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ in his kingdom. When you are alone and away from others, please read the following prayer out loud to the Lord:

"Lord Jesus, I acknowledge you. I believe that you rose from the dead. Please come into my heart right now."

It's the best prayer that you'll ever pray.

    MSM journalistic crud

So far today (Sunday 6.11.17), the MSM has produced a total of 22 different bombastic Fake News titles about President Trump. More will invariably be coming. Here are the latest articles from yahoonews.com:

    37. President Trump is an ‘F’ student

    43. The Trump-Russia saga

The "shock and awe" of MSM's Fake News has lost its effect. It no longer has journalistic credibility. The lies have actually become quite humorous and laughable. The once-proud American MSM is now begging for internet clicks, instead of seeking journalistic integrity. History is being made.

The idea that the media has a liberal bias is neither new nor controversial. Some outlets, like MSNBC, don't even pretend to be balanced. It's hardly even worth discussing but if me again wants to continue to post example well I guess that's fine. To me it doesn't matter what the media does. The only thing that really matters is the Special Investigation and what Mueller does. These things can drag out for months. Someday, when the report comes out, we'll all have fun going back and seeing which of the allegations proved to be true, who's going to jail or going into retirement. It's altogether too soon to tell and anyone who says they "know" is just making it up.

Me again- I think most reasonable people will come to the conclusion that the msm is bias. The majority of American people sees through this. That is why in opinion polls MSM is almost as low as congress.
However, I think that bias is different from the MSM having a conservative, moderate, or liberal slant. A good newsperson is when you can't figure out his/her political leanings - and that is what I think is missing in the US MSM. It is so bad that news people are themselves becoming part of the news. Each one is trying sink to the lowest lows to be part of the news headline.

me again - I've just had the opportunity to look at your list and I have a question. I'm pretty sure that you read all of those articles and that's how you know that they are filled with lies, "fake news" and other nasty business. So I chose one at random (#43) and would like you to help me understand what specific elements of the article are untrue, lies or otherwise fake. Like I said, the one I chose was #43, an article by Eliza Relman from Business Insider. Help me out with this please.
