I hope you enjoyed them, and I thank you all for your gracious comments. You are all my friends, regardless of your view points. "Read this book sometime, and tell me what think" Ghost Dog
Hell, no. Keep telling them. Eventually one of them will be picked up by DLTruth, where you'll get trashed and, perhaps, even have your own forum there one day. But seriously, I found it quite entertaining. So, do you know what an "ear worm" is? Traditionally, it's a song that you can't get out of your head, often the last song you heard on the radio when driving. After you leave the car it stays in your mind until you hear a new "ear worm." It must have been at least an hour that my mind kept hearing, "The creamiest, dreamiest soft ice cream you get from Mister Softee..." And I have you to blame for that. :bigeyes2:
I've been trying for years, but I'm still relegated to the second string. I'd step-up my game, but that forum seems to have had its 15 minutes, and activity has dropped to near zero.
I've heard that if you turn the lights off, light one candle and say "DLTruth" 3 times into a mirror... no... no, it's too horrible to say. :dead: Please don't do it. :ziplip:
I never actually looked at DL Truth until today. I see they've quoted me a few times but no one has felt the urge to comment on my personal life so I guess I'm still in the Farm League.
It brought back memories to me from 50 years ago. I remembered bluesman Doug Quattlebaum's "Softee Man Blues," on the Prestige Bluesville label, issued in 1963. He used to play guitar and sing through the p.a. system in his ice cream truck. He made more records after that, and was last known to have entered the ministry. That's my "earworm" for the day. You can see the album here: popsike.com - Lp - Doug Quattlebaum - Softee Man Blues (Vogue/France) - auction details Take my word for it, he was a really good performer. There are a couple of songs of his on YouTube. J.
Full name: Douglas Elijah Quattlebaum Born: Jan 22, 1927, Florence SC Died: 1990, Philadelphia PA Rest in peace, Doug. You did great. J.
DL Truth was on the back end of their decline by the time you became really active here. I'm sure you would have been promoted if they kept at it for awhile, which you can take as a compliment, I suppose.
I can't say that I'm surprised that activity tapered off on a diploma mill fanboy forum that seems incredibly obsessed with the topic of gay sex. Niche is one thing. But when you over-specialize you really cut your market segments too narrowly. I guess I'll just have to find a way to continue on without being included in their "butt pirate pantheon." Somehow I feel I will be OK.
I never hear the term "ear worm before". Thanks! At this point, I can't think of any new material to write about.
You could tell them about that time you were stopped by the cops. Remember that time when you were doing that thing with those other guys and then the cops showed up and nearly spoiled the whole show? You could tell them that story. Hmmm. Maybe not.:scratchchin::no1:
Well, they did say something about from a LONG time. I guess they think I'm weird because I like Cesar Chavez? What the hell? I think Cesar was a cool dude.
