    Great

Well that is the case in the Americas. But hey, great, more cannon fodder for Bush.

    Carl,

I admire your remarks in the other post about Bush having won the final debate. Your objectivity is refreshing!

Now, Carl, you sound like Kerry. Kerry, in all his debates with Bush spoke about strong alliances and condemned Bush for not courting (actually kowtowing) to the international community.

Bush tried! He spoke before the U.N. practically begging for support. He got none. Why? Saddam bribed France and a host of others who opposed us (Oil for Food scandal).

Kerry, voted against the first Gulf War and Bush 41 did everything Kerry said Bush 43 should have done.

    Go figure!

    Fred,
You're the one that posted the "facts." It is up to you to verify that they are true. Where is your documentation?

BLD: "Anyone who even hints that this was a draw, let alone a win for Kerry, is just a blatant partisan. No one with an open mind could have watched tonight's debate and honestly come to any conclusion other than that Bush completely annihilated Kerry".

Cehi: I am using my own open mind to make a conclusion that is opposite of your conclusion, that is, kerry annihilated his opponent last night". So, this makes the two of us partisan, based on your comments. Have fun. I am still an independent, and will always be. Thank you.

  9. Jimmy,
Thanks for your recognition of my objectivity. But I "sound like Kerry" in parts of my post because I happen to agree with him, and will vote for him. I don't think Kerry is suggesting "kowtowing" to the international community, but rather to proceed with patience and steady measures to build (or re-build, as the case may be) our alliances. I agree that Kerry, in the past when he didn't really have to call the shots, appears to be obstructionist and unrealistic at times about the likelihood of success of diplomacy, and the tremendous amount of time required. He also does not have a perfect past in terms of his decisions regarding the first Gulf War (an unquestionable act of justice for Bush 41 in carrying it out - I disagree with John Kerry's stance vehemently on this one).

All in all, though, I am convinced that diplomacy is what is needed now, combined with a tough stance on the actual terrorists, not taking down rogue nations that we feel like conquering with no analysis or understanding of the consequences in the Muslim world, or the world at large (hence my stance on the need to rebuild alliances with our European allies).

What is really a disgrace is that it took Bush and his military nearly a month to respond to the attacks of September 11, attacks they should have seen coming, and where preparations for a rapid strike to de-capitate the Taliban and al-Qaeda at their home bases in Afghanistan should have been ready to launch immediately, months before the event. Because there was no plan, and no comprehension of the need for one, the Taliban and the terrorists were allowed to disperse into the mountains and border areas and escaped the worst of the punishment we COULD have dealt to them - meanwhile our country reeled in our anxiety for weeks while we waited for Bush to do something, anything. Of course, the need to "strike while the iron is hot" is something that any President should be prepared to do in the future, and not let us flounder with our guard down ever, ever again.

For that I blame Bush, and for that he must go. Afghanistan was NOT a success. The terrorists escaped. Our puppet regime that Bush was so excited about "democracy! YAY!" in the debate last night will be swept away the minute our guns are turned to other targets. If we think otherwise, then we have some serious learning to do about not only Afghan history, but about the nature of Muslim hatred towards the west/US in general.

(Apologies in advance for "sounding too much like Kerry" in this wordy, over analytical response - at least I left off the numerical statistics he keeps repeating debate after debate....;) )

MSNBC's straw poll lines up pretty well with the Gallup poll I mentioned earlier.

I am beginning to think that Kerry is timing things well...barring a major change in Iraq, and in light of rising new claims for unemployment insurance, I am beginning to think Kerry's momentum will peak about Election Day and that he will win the popular vote.

    Re: Homophobia

Talking about homosexuality is not "toilet politics."

(And you have the nerve to accuse others of homophobia...)

    This is a joke, right?

Of course it's not. This is the way the neo-cons work. Anyone who does not whole-heartedly agree with them is evil/stupid/terrorist supporter, etc.

    Welcome to the new America.

No, that is the way you work. I didn't call anyone any names whatsoever. I said that it would show partisanship. You Libs need to get your act together.

You don't know me. You know nothing about me. Yet you feel that you are qualified to make sweeping generalizations about me. Typical.

If, by "Lib" you mean libertarian, then, yes, I am a "Lib."

I think it is hilarious that so-called conservatives jump to the conclusion that anyone who doesn't love their budget-busting, Bill-of-Rights-decimating President is somehow a Liberal.

Ronald Reagan wanted to eliminate the federal Department of Education. Bush has worked to expand its power, virtually eliminating local control. And the neo-cons want us to believe that both of these contradictory plans are "conservative." What a joke.

No, I don't think both plans are conservative. I wish Bush were much more conservative than he is.

Talk about sweeping with a broad brush...you need a good look in the mirror, friend.

    Mr BLD,

I am afraid there is just no reasoning with you. I would post the documentation, but what would be the point? Your mind is already made up.

I have pointed you in the right direction. If you did a little research, you will discover how the people in florida were robbed of right to vote.

I guess you are a traditional Republican voter, well good on ya!

    You deserve Bush.

    Live with it.

The point would be to prove that you are not a liar. You're the one that came here spouting these things off as "facts." Prove them. If you choose not to, just accept defeat.

    Defeat?

Funny how you mention that word DEFEAT. Get used to it, you will be hearing that word a lot when Bush's Empire comes crumbling down around your heels.

You love America do you? Well get over to Fallujah and give your boys a hand.

No, you sit in a LazyBoy, voting maniacs into power.

    Nice:mad:
