Not knowing anything about the so called school or having any interest in it, some comments in the letter have identified the nationality of the author of the letter for me.

Could it be some person connected with the ownership, not just a former student? If so, it is a remarkably juvenile response.

    Mr. Josef-Peter Cooper message

"(I) don't much care for slandering remarks made on your website"

But it is OK for you to slander people on this site.

"But I'm proud of the school I attended"

Judging by the grammatical errors in, and the general composition of, your message I would not be proud of your school if that's your standard of writing.

Not always, but in a very large number of cases, when such a response is received, we're able to connect it back to the owner of the school. Some of them go to the trouble of setting up a half dozen or more aliases, all of whom talk with one another.

Back on AED years ago, Les Snell, proprietor of Monticello, would occasionally forget which persona he was posting as, and sign his posts with a name he'd previously used with a different email address.

There are qute a few other school owners who have tried this in one form or another, and almost without fail, they reveal themselves and make their schools look even more foolish than they already do.

Robert de Sorbon has done essentially the same thing, using different personas to post pretty much the same message on multiple discussion boards within the space of a few minutes.

Thank you so much for sharing. It was the best laugh I've had in days. It is exactly responses like this that make the diploma mill threads so entertaining and keep me coming back for more.

The best laugh I have ever had is reading your threads. Here are a bunch of losers, who are trying to sound intelligent using this thread, because no one would most likely listen to them anywhere else. You guys remind me of the Mail man on Cheers, remember him the guy who knew it all. But of course no one took him serious, just like you people.

Well it's been fun chatting with you losers, but I have better things to do. I know most likely you don't, your unemployment has probably run out, and you can't find a job, because you have such highly regarded degrees (yeah right!).

I'm sure when your no longer living at home with Mom, things might look up for you guys.

Don' forget to say Happy Mothers Day to Mom, before you go to bed tonight!.

This is really fun! we should do this more often, don't forget to send a nice reply. And please for once post my reply, I would appreciate it. Thanks

    To all you losers!!

    Have a Good Day

    Cooper

An interesting paper. However in the USA the regional accrediting agencies define the stadards for an accredited educational college and performs routine checks to ensure those standards are complied with. Thus the need for (and the associated expense) ISO 9001 certification is not needed.

I swear, there must be a communications manual that every mill and unwonderful school operator automatically receives from somewhere when they start a new unwonderful program.

The reason I say this is... the quality and content of the posts by different school operators is so incredibly similar that it almost has to come out of the same playbook.

The manual must say something to the effect of, "When your arguments about why your crappy school have been completely exhausted, start personally insulting the posters, mentioning either their vocation, education, or some personal attribute."

A search through our archive and that of a.e.d. will show a remarkable number of school operators that have followed this plan perfectly.

How a reasonably intelligent person can go from an intellectual defense of their "program" to "move out of your mother's basement" and actually believe that they've somehow succeeded in scoring a point is completely beyond me.

I think I've found it! Here's the citation:
(1979). Ad hominem attacks about your detractors. Journal of Douchebaggery. 17, 189-210.

Who knows? This school may be seeking accreditation. Every school has to start somewhere. But until it's accredited (if ever), people are not going to look upon it very highly.

I was in Canterbury, UK, last week for a few hours and picked up a flyer on Warnborough College (UK). I did not have time to visit their address in Canterbury but I do note that they do not advertise that they offer any degrees - just courses, exams (including GRE), and certificates that can be used to obtain credit or advanced placement at various universities.
