The interim president of Castleton University is retiring next month.

Dr. Jonathan Spiro will leave the post on Jan. 3, the board of the Vermont State Colleges System said Monday.
The Vermont State Colleges System is unifying Castleton, Northern Vermont University and Vermont Technical College into a newly established Vermont State University, which will have five campuses and other remote sites. Vermont State University will officially become a singly accredited university in July 2023, Chancellor Sophie Zdatny said.

Interesting, considering NVU was only created in 2018 after a merger of Johnson State College and Lyndon State College.

Perhaps it was one of those “To B or not to B” things?
