I don't feel like signing up to read the whole article, but I can see that it will be a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. I hope that the available concentrations and/or the cost will be something unique, as it doesn't appear on its face to be anything that can't be found at several US mainland schools with better name recognition.
It's a public university named after the place where it's located. This board rarely asks for a name recognition beyond this. Oh, and the specialization they offer is "strategic communications". Meh. There are, however, other degrees on offer.
Here's the UVI's current lineup of programs (minus the new one): While these programs can be completed 100% online, they do have optional "mini-residencies". Since this is St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands after all, that might be attractive. And yes, it's RA. The downside appears to be that it isn't particularly cheap. It appears to my quick glance to be $434/credit.
