My alma mater, the University of Texas as San Antonio (for my BA), had their inaugural game today, defeating Northeastern State 31-3. As we have discussed here before, you know you have a good college/university if they have a football team. So I can now proudly hold up my head, knowing that my school's team has never been beaten. Way to go, boys! UTSA! UTSA! (I should also note that I have not visited the campus since a few semesters after my graduation, and that was to get a transcript - back before we could get them online. Nor do I really get that worked up about their football team. I attended/graduated from there simply because it was close.)
Go Roadrunners! I think I can safely say that my first-three-years school, Reed, has not lost a conference football game in 97 years.
Does Reed have a football team? I dunno; they did when I attended. One year, I recall, it was a 3 game season: Oregon Dental, Multnomah Bible, and someone of comparable reknown. One game I attended, 11 players showed up, but one of them wouldn't play till he finished his calculus homework, so he sat thereon the bench doing it for the first quarter, while the team played with ten men (or, come to think of it, it may have been nine men and a woman).
