I would say we were given both the Oxford Comma and two spaces after a period at Mt. Sinai but Torah has neither vowels nor punctuation.

I once attended a synagogue that had a bronze dedication plaque in the social hall. The plaque contained an erroneous apostrophe. Truly a typo for the ages!:)

I had to un-learn the two spaces thing. I seem to recall that it's an APA style thing. I wonder if the Oxford Comma is, too?

Yes to Oxford comma. Meh to two spaces after a full stop, no strong feeling there. But it's interesting that APA is advising against hyphenating prefixes, as I've found myself hyphenating fewer and fewer of them in the last few years.

Haven't boomers done enough to destroy our environment and our social fabric? Shame on you. Seriously.

The cumulative environmental impact from the wasteful use of ink, paper and disk space that results from the superfluous use of redundant grammatical forms puts everyone at risk, but especially hurts those in need.

As if contributing to the decay of our shared planet wasn't bad enough, your classist adherence to the prescriptive grammar of old, rich, white, straight, cisgendered men perpetuates the stylistic oppression of social minorities.

Have a heart, for a change. CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE and put an end to your keyboard stroke microagressions.

How do you feel about that hot issue regarding commas going inside quote marks but semi-colons placed outside? Isn't such an exclusionary practice a reinforcement of archaic class boundaries? And don't even get me started about 3 vs. 4 ellipses...(.)

Personally, I've always worried about the individual fates of all those "truncated" bits.
