The racist liar with a silly show on Fox has been fired by Fox. I'm guessing that Russia TV might want to pick him up?

My question is whether or not some of the other liars on Fox will also be fired?

    No.

Fox doesn't fire people for lying. It fires them when they become a liability. (They also didn't fire him for what he said about Fox's management.) What matters is the money.

They're not punishing Carlson. They're cutting ties with him because of upcoming lawsuits with Smartmatic and an employee (Abby Grossberg). They've seen the impact of doing nothing and are determined not to be seen doing nothing again. So, out he goes, the most successful of their on-air personalities.

I saw a tweet from RT offering him a job already.

    How utterly unsurprising.

Don Lemon and Tucker Carlson are hiring the same powerhouse lawyer — who's helped TV hosts secure multimillion-dollar payouts from their old networks.
    • Bryan Freedman is known as the go-to lawyer for multimillion-dollar payouts in messy media breakups.
    • He's worked for former TV hosts at ABC, NBC, and CNN, and a long list of celebrities.
Freedman previously worked to help former host Megyn Kelly secure around $30 million from NBC News after she parted ways with the network in 2019. Kelly was fired halfway through her three-year contract worth $69 million, but NBC agreed to pay her the remainder of her original salary.

That's just about money. I could not care who--Fox, CNN, or those guys--gets more or less.

Yes. I do not care enough about Lemon and CNN, and actively dislike #ucker and Faux "News". So in these contests, I'm rooting for the lawyers; may they milk all sides for as much dough as possible.

Just to be clear, I was using the term liar not to say that they he was being fired for being a liar but instead as a description for someone working at Fox. Fox isn't even really a news organization after all. Reporter or journalist just seems inappropriate. Liar is more accurate.

Recent reporting points at the reason for Tucker Carlson is some horrible language (c-word) he used to describe a female executive that works at Fox.

    quote:
Carlson did not want the damning message redacted from the lawsuit. “He told his colleagues that he wanted the world to know what he had said about the executive in a private message,” the report states. He compared it to his “I hate him passionately” comment about Trump. While that was said amid a short burst of anger, his resentment toward the executive was “deep and enduring,” per the Journal, which is owned by News Corp., the sister company of Fox’s parent.
    ...
According to a lawsuit filed by his producer Abby Grossberg, Carlson oversaw a toxic environment on his show in which misogyny, including the use of the C-word by men on the team, and antisemitism were rampant. (In an interview on MSNBC on Tuesday, Grossberg said Carlson made her life a “living hell.”)

The Grossberg lawsuit is starting soon. It seems that Fox decided to clean house a bit before that lawsuit. This was likely extra important because Fox had gotten into trouble for misogyny and toxic culture under Ailes. Which Fox promised the court would be cleaned up.

I would just like to add that I wish Abby Grossberg all the luck in the world on her lawsuit and hope she wins a big enough reward that Fox really fixes their caustic work environment.

A Fox "promise," I think, is about as reliable as Fox "News."

My good wishes to Abby Grossberg, too. I hope she wins enough so that all Fox's assets are drained to pay her everything she is suing for (or more) and pay heavy punitive damages - then Fox closes it doors.

As long as there is a Fox organization, I don't think the work environment will change. I don't think they could accomplish that on a bet, any more than they can report news truthfully. Taking away ALL the money and dissolving the place would punish those responsible and give America at least a slightly cleaned-up journalistic environment.

Then - I hope people who have been wronged by similarly bad outfits can go after those others ...
