    Over 3,000 fakes unearthed out of 250,000 (2.5 lakh) so far. Pretty good. Wonder what a similar probe would net here? Probably less. As the report points out, the higher-ed system is hopelessly bogged down in Bihar, with slews of affiliated degree-granting
    colleges/study centres around each of the few authorized schools.

    Here: Different problems altogether. Probably less fakes .... I hope.

    Several Asian countries have a diploma mill epidemic. Looks like India is no different. There is some hope, as there have been some efforts in Thailand, China and now India to do something about it, but they have quite the long way to go.
