I wonder if, as part of the reception process for refugees, Canada explains two of the Great Mysteries of the Universe: 1) How a hockey game can have three halves; and 2) Curling.

 

I still remember my first-time visit to Canada in the early 1970's. I turned on the TV in our hotel room in hopes of seeing what Canadian television looked like. CBC was showing people sliding what looked like teapots down an ice rink, while inexplicably sweeping furiously in front of them with brooms! I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Canadian sports!
