Such indignation at "obscenity" from a habitue of onlinecollegeinfo! Now that's truly remarkable. Neil, you are the darling exhibit of a bunch of people who obsess about Douglas' dissertation and spew venom, frequently in the most bizarre sexual terms, about this website. Even ----- ------- found their behaviour such that he didn't care to be (known to be) associated with it. But there you are, high, wide, and handsome.

Then you come here and complain? Gevalt!

What sort of desperate need for hero status do you have? Apparently that need is so desperate that when I became a target of their venom for my attitude toward you, you lacked the guts and principle to point out to your little friends that I had not only read but praised your dissertation. Do I care about this lapse of politesse on your part? Not much. But if you hang out with millists--not that your credentials are exactly, um, stellar--and participate by tacit agreement in their obloquy, how can you be surprised when people here cannot take you seriously?

I tried to take you seriously. I even tried to put a decent construction on your Knightsbridge involvement (in a case where, clearly, mercy triumphed over judgment and I was being silly). Be assured I won't repeat these mistakes.

As I've already mentioned RC, you are the one telling untruths in all this.
If your great dissertation isn't available from any authorised source how come I purchased it direct from Union Institute & University library?

Wow. I've been promoted to the degreeinfo "gang" they love to obsess about on that other forum. They have made an imaginary Directoire, putatively sharing an ironclad ideology, out of anyone who supports anything other than the worst mills or can speak of Rich Douglas or his dissertation without sexual agitation. Fine.

I'd like to know why Neil hasn't the balls to admit I read his dissertation cover to cover and stronngly praised his dissertation, even though I did not praise the auspices under which he did it. Was it a duck bite or a hunting mishap?

Me too Uncle Janko, but mine was a mistake, nobody over there will answer me to why they think I am somebody else

I'd like to know why he's submitted it to two fake schools. If the practice of awarding a doctorate like that is so common (as Neil and the people connected to Knightsbridge assert), and if the work is question is so worthy (as Neil and the people connected to Knightsbridge assert--and Unk does, too), why didn't he take a doctorate at a recognized university? Why the big charade about Knightsbridge (not to mention TC&U)?

Now Neil claims to have been admitted to a professional society, in part because of his Knightsbridge degree. This may very well be true. But he doesn't say what the society is, nor how his degree was involved. This is like a 5-year-old claiming an imaginary, invisible friend. Rather than try to confirm/deny/accept/whatever this claim, it seems more reasonable to ignore the claim until it is clearly stated. If true, if the degree was necessary for acceptance, if this society is real, if this society is prestigious, if they really assessed the nature of the degree and found it acceptable, and if Neil really did get in, wouldn't this be good news for Neil and Knighstbridge? But absent the details, it hasn't really happened, has it? I guess we'll have to wait.

Just got off the phone with Union's Library. The library assures me that individual sales of PDE's are not available. In fact, electronic copies of my PDE are not available from anyone, except me.

If someone wants a hard copy, that person must request it through interlibrary loan. Not a purchase, a loan. The requestor goes into his/her library and requests the dissertation. Union's library makes a copy and sends it to the requestor's library. That library either lends the document or makes a copy and lends that. That's it.

No electronic versions are available anywhere. It is also not for sale anywhere. Anywhere legitimately, that is.

Frankly, no one really cares about the document. It's just the trolls--anonymous and otherwise--who are making an issue of it. And Neil is caught in yet another related lie.

Oh, and Neil's typical response? He won't answer anything. Instead he'll offer tripe like this from an earlier post:

What an incredible inane reply - completely full of totally incorrect information and quite obscene comments. It's hard to believe that such comments could possibly come from a Doctor of Philosophy, or from a person who claims to know something about education and communication.

Looking forward to the next dodge....

My assumption was that Neil got his hands on an interlibrary loan copy that he obtained through the school that he allegedly works for. I further assumed that Union charged the library a copy and shipping fee which Neil had to personally cover.

The other possibility that I see is that Neil has fabricated a rather elaborate story on the same level of complication as his claims to two bogus doctorates.

I assume that latter is the reason I didn't make the cut.

    Uncle,
I really valued and appreciated your comments on my brown teal piece. So much so that I took the liberty to include your comments in the additional brown teal educational material that I use, along with an array of positive comments from many world leaders in waterfowl conservation.
Interestingly I've just heard from a teacher in the USA who is using the brown teal manual in his class, as an example of an endangered waterfowl recovery programme.

I did not pass it on, but I asked you if I could pass it onto others,
    http://forums.degreeinfo.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13431&highlight=dissertation

You said it wasn't a problem. I don't want to do anything contrary to your thoughts, so is it OK to pass it on?

I have to admit I found it rather strange that someone would list getting admitted, then not list the name of the society or the requirements. Having just come from the ceremony welcoming my hubby, I would think Neil would want everyone to know what he had to go though to get admitted.

Sigma Xi - 3 published peer reviewed articles in science or engineering, not including the doctoral work.

NOW, NOW. . . I joined this forum to get information on completing my Master's. I see a lot of bickering "My Doctorate is better than yours," or "Show me your dissertation and I'll show you mine." For what it's worth, my bulldog recently got HIS doctorate, by fulfilling the requirements. You can get yours here: http://ulc.org

    Have a great weekend.:D

Deb, the reason I chose not to divulge which institution had awarded me membership on the strength of my KU PhD can be clearly identified when you read what RC had to say on the matter. His obsession to hide his dissertation and calling me a liar about twenty times and at every opportunity - the latest occasion being when I posted that I had purchased a copy from the Union Institute library - shows that RC could not be trusted in any way. I have the Union receipt sitting right in front of me - on top of his dissertation, the front page of which clearly display the Union Institute stamp.
Should RC know which UK institution had recognised my KU degree (there are many other members with KU degrees also) RC would immediately be on the phone to them - just as he was when the ODA list first appeared, and KU was added instantly to the ODA list, as a result of his phone call. This being confirmed by the ODA.

Hmmm... What a great degree that you have to hide from everyone. That isn't my idea of a University.

Sounds like the exact same argument that the St. Regis University folks use. They can't tell us the names of any of the supposedly vast number of RA Universities that accept SRU degrees because they're afraid that people will harass these poor universities into not accepting SRU degrees. (Yea right!!)

Doesn't it make more sense that the real problem is that KU is a degree mill? Does it really make sense for you to blame the ODA's characterization of KU on Rich? Doesn't it make more sense that the ODA is a professional unbiased organization that can see KU for what it is? Oh that's right you are forced to believe that the ODA is either incompetent or part of some grand conspiracy or else you'd have to face the truth that your degree is bogus. You were able to admit that your TC&U degree was bogus but only after you got your KU degree.

You're worried that Rich calling the Society will cause trouble for them and you? Why in the world would they even give his claims any credence if they are the ones who examined your work and voted to admit you? Interesting.

The ODA is a completely different kind of situation. That's an underfunded government group that may depend too heavily on word of mouth, I can't say. But a Society has to exam a lot of things before they issue an invitation, so they have to be sure of themselves and their vote.

Some of the more prominent posters around here have no name and/or refuse to name any credentials.

Obviously there's nothing wrong with that because when I question them, they get all upset.

Dr. Hayes is actually for real. I have my doubts about some of the others who criticize him and seem to garner respect around here.
