Friend of mine is looking to get a regionally accredited degree - and evenutally a Ph.D in the field of Spiritual Psychology. She said she knows someone that obtained a Ph.D from UCLA in the field - but what is available via DL? Any help in regards to this area - would be greatly appreciated.
That person from UCLA may have gotten a PhD in Psychology, and they may have written their dissertation on a topic related to spirituality, but I'd be willing to bet that there is not a specific program in Spiritual Psychology at UCLA, DL or otherwise. This might be the closest you'll get: http://www.itp.edu/
Check out the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto. The last I looked, they offered some DL options and have some very spiritually-oriented coursework and at least courses of studies if not an actual degree. Also, JFK University, based somewhere in the east bay of California (across from San Francisco) has spiritual and transpersonal psychology programs, and was offering some limited DL a few years ago, may have expanded by now. Both are regionally accredited. Not sure about APA accreditation; I know that JFK was working on it several years ago, but don't know if they ever achieved it.
Thanks for the suggestions. Will look at all options, has anyone heard of Delphi U in Georgia? Any info would be great. Thanks again.
Saybrook has a PhD concentration in Consciousness and Spirituality, not intended for licensure. http://saybrook.edu/academics/concentrations.asp?strContent=Consciousness%20and%20Spirituality
California Institute of Integral Studies has programs that would fit the desription but I believe that they require some substantial residency http://www.ciis.edu/academics/degrees.html
