Hello! Yeah. Sounds cool, huh? - Swiss Management Center has rebranded. I stand in awe. Best regards, Mac Juli
"Free"? This contradicts this here... https://transknowlogy.com/course/master-of-business-administration Anyone here to take one for the team to try it?
The G.O.A.T. of MBA programs says Transknowlogy. Is that a Billy G.O.A.T. or a Nanny G.O.A.T.? I need a mini-degree. Are there any K.I.D.S.?
Me no think so. Look again. "Transknowlowski" site says "Tuition Fee: Free." I suspect there's probably no tuition fee - but huge exam and / or graduation fees. I don't think it's a Benevolent Society.
I recall reading and researching SMC previously, they had no accreditation I believe... Having said that, they seem to have updated everything and now accredited by Malta! Here's their 'freebie' link: https://smceducation.com/free-mba/ Their accreditation link: https://smceducation.com/government-accredited-online-college/ Am I reading that correctly? They've got some things showing 'properly' online. But the links to the Transknowlogy points to a price, not a 'freebie'. More research needed...
Or it's a case of "exact words". They said THEY would never charge any fees. Nothing said about their partners...
@ Mac Juli.Thanks. Somehow I never found that part at all. So all you have to do to get in free, is to be Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos. And even if you are, it's likely the partners can charge what they want. Somehow, this does not surprise me at all, considering the source.
Hello! Signed up and enrolled in a nice (really free) course ("How Great Leaders Solve Problems"). In the course menu, you can click on "Master of Business Administration" - the price tag reads like "was €4500, but now only €3990". If you click on "learn more", it's said that there is no tuition free... Well. Best regards, Mac Juli
Yes, the Transknowlogy MBA is not accredited, I think they're just doing a 'sample/simple Mini MBA' type of thing to get people interested in their joint programs. Even though SMC indicates there are no charges or fees for the partnership, but I think if you just go Transknowlogy directly, there is a cost involved as per their webpage... I'm still curious about their other programs though, from Bachelors to PhD level, would those be considered 'accredited' in Malta, fully by the government. I did a search on Malta Qualifications Database and they do show up properly as "Full". Having said that, the date shows as ending 08/2024... I wonder if they're going to update that or not, be diligent and only apply after it's updated. Sounds like what I've heard in previous years (reported here) on "the old" SMC's operations. 4000 Euro for an unaccredited "sample simple Mini MBA" as AsianStew suggested the program might be? Yes, that would be exactly the sort of thing I might associate with "the old" SMC, from reading about its past, here at DI. SMC and its partners - it appears the new apples do not fall far from the old tree.
I looked up Transknowlogy Group. https://www.linkedin.com/company/transknowlogy?trk=similar-pages They appear linked to Signum and SMC as they say. I think there's some link to Universidad Azteca in Mexico and there is definitely one to this school: Transcontinental University. Offers Bachelor's, Master's and PhD. Degrees starting at a not-inexpenive $25K. Another "World" school, photos carefully selected to reflect diversity. Didn't find any info re: accreditation. It's here https://tc-university.org/ Accreditation: Licensed (not accredited) by State of Ohio, US. Licensed and Accredited by Malta, the page says, giving License #. etc. They claim that MBA and PhD degrees are "recognized globally" and the school possesses "institutional and program accreditation" for its Masters and PhD degrees. Here: https://tc-university.org/about-transcontinental-university/licenses-and-accreditation/
Sorry - in the last post I guess I DID find the accreditation page after all - and forgot to scrub my earlier note. I also forgot to add, Transcontinental U shows an office address in Dublin, Ohio, US and says "Regional Offices in Europe, Asia and Africa." I presume the European regional office might be in Malta. Would seem logical, but .....?
OK, I have had a mail exchange. Contrary to my experience with the "predecessors", Swiss Management Center, they were quick to respond. They stated that (I asked them if it would be ok if I repost it, and they said yes): <quote> Signum Magnum College is not a rebranding or evolution of Swiss Management Center, but of SMC Education Group, which has been established in 2019 as a fully independent higher education institution. Signum Magnum College is legally, financially, strategically, academically, and operationally entirely independent from Swiss Management Center. There is one link, though – both organizations have been founded by the same person, who also founded SBS Swiss Business School, as well as Transknowlogy, amongst other education projects. </quote> They denied a link to "Transcontinental university" and affirmed that "The Transknowlogy MBA is free in its entirety. Neither SMC, nor any other involved party or partner charge any fees.". It is, however, "not an accredited degree program yet.". I have not done any recherche about that yet, but I did not want to keep potentially interesting information either!
Okay, that makes a lot of sense. I always wondered why he reused the initials for a different institution, especially when Signum Magnum College has been accredited in Malta since it was organized. I'm glad he's made sure the difference is clear.
Hello! Well, I tried to get in...successfully. And that is something I am quite happy about! - Now, I can access some courses on coursera.com for free (and yes, no one asked for any money)! I'll keep you informed... Best regards, Mac Juli
