Section for online certification exams?

    Now an increasing number of universities and companies offer online certificates which you can earn through their exams or courses.

    These certificates are indeed useful in your resume. Even if you don't have a degree in that field, you can still prove your knowledge and skills.

    So here are some of the online certification exams I have found:

    Microsoft certification exams:

    Each of these online certification exams barely costs between $100 - $250.
    They're from the real companies and they send you a certificate once you pass their exams.

    How about we create a new discussion section for these certification exams?

    Coursera and Edx are both great places to get course completion certificate from reputable universities:

    https://www.edx.org/

    Most of their courses are free.. but you'll be charged $150+ when you want a course completion certificate with your name.

    Microsoft certifications     - Good for life
    VMware certifications - Good for life
    Google certifications - 2 years
    MongoDB certification - Good for life
    Oracle certifications - Good for life time but some of them will need 're-certification' one day. "Each certification will be evaluated separately to determine if recertification is necessary. Currently, only Oracle Database Administration certifications and most Oracle Cloud certifications require recertification." - Oracle University
    Cisco CCNA certifications - 3 years
    Cisco CCNP certifications - 3 years
    Cisco CCIE certifications - 2 years
    Cisco CCar - 5 years
    CompTIA - A+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, PenTest+, Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), and Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) 3 years
    CompTIA - Linux+, Server+, and Project+ Good for life
    (ISC)2 certifications - 3 years
    AWS certifications - 3 years
    Linux Foundation certification - 3 years

    Here are key points when taking these exams:

    1. Take the exams offered by the original / real companies. i.e. Oracle, Microsoft, Tableau, etc. There are lots of unknown organizations claiming to issue certification exams.
    2. You may want to get certificates that won't expire first. Renewing these certificates every two years can cost a lot of money and time.
