I think it's an Earthly alphabet, Bill. I'll hunt it down but it's not a five-minute job like Archbishops. It's definitely systematic and not random artistic scribble. Nice challenge. Thanks. :)

Easy - just cross out all the 'nots' before the word "pretending." :)

@Bill Huffman The diplomas are not all different. There are repeaters in there. Gotta look through Alphabets, Abjas, Abugidas, Syllabaries etc - lot of stuff to go through. Gonna be a slog, then I'll probably find out this ONE guy made up his own. ....

I remember an assignment to make an alphabet, and write something in it, in a writing class at Uni. I made one I thought should be good for a bunch of languages and wrote in it: "Los conejitos se esconden en las fresas." (The baby rabbits are hiding in the strawberries.)

Still have that alphabet around some place. Packed away right now for a potential move.

Some might argue that there are only 16 unique diplomas. On the other hand we're talking about an academic fraud here claiming hundreds of diplomas. Sure maybe some of the schools are referring to the same space alien college but if you read the fine print it might be noticed that they are all different disciplines and/or different level degrees.

Can't read the fine print - the pic on DI is too small. Thought it was from actual wallpaper - didn't realize it was connected with Indian fraud. Sure heck isn't Devanagari - a common Indian alphabet. I know that one, to see it. It's used for Sanskrit, Hindi, Marathi, and a couple of others. Okay - I'll go after the original pic- and yeah - probably the alphabet is as bogus as the degrees. This is likely more trouble than it's worth.
    But ..... (sigh).

Right. It's the work of an artist - she signs as 'mongiesama" and her name is Amanda Helman. I like her work, but I don't think, somehow, that she's an expert on Indian alphabets - or Indian frauds. I quit at Telugu - which this isn't. It looked "systematic" probably because of the identical repeats. I don't think Amanda herself is a "space alien," but who knows where artists get their inspiration? :)

Mongiesama - Artistic license - to do whatever.
Parthiban and Satyanarayana - no license. Suspended indefinitely.

So should I meet the Archbishop of York I'd better ask to see some ID?

To the best of my knowledge the Most Reverend Archbishop doesn't hang around in New Mexico unlike the late Princess Margaret who, I'm told, kept horses in Ruidoso. Story is she'd visit quietly from time to time.

The snarkier say she also visited her dear friend Jack Daniels while here. I don't know about that, though.

The snarkier Brits often said the same thing - but with vodka. I don't care for / about the stories. She visited our town once. I was 15 and got to see her from quite close. I was impressed - and that's how I want to remember her. I'm sorry about the many unhappy days in her life.

It is not a cakewalk, being a Royal. Ask Prince Harry. Ask his beautiful wife.

The first time I saw Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, on TV was before "Suits" and before she and Harry met - well before.
Meghan was doing commercials for Reitmans, a Canadian women's clothing chain. In one commercial, she went to a class re-union and everyone's eyes were upon her - due, of course, to her fashionable Reitmans dress. :) A handsome male grad recognized her and asked "Meghan Markle?"

I was really struck by her beauty. I knew immediately I saw her, we'd all be hearing her name again. However, I certainly had no idea of the circumstances under which we'd hear it. I hope she, Harry and their children are much happier in their new lives.

@nosborne48 We've done it again, you and me. Look how far afield this thread has gone! You and I should do a show - about fashion and forum-hijacking. We could call it "Threads Gone Wild." :)

    Sartorial and expurgatorial?

I believe "expurgatory" is a standard English word and "expurgatorial" is not. African, perhaps?
I think I've heard of "Expurgatorial Africa" - or again, maybe not. No... that was "Equatorial," IIRC.

And I was just going for a cheap laugh. I asked Google "Is there such a word as "expurgatorial" and all it would give me was that 'expurgatory' was the accepted English word, So yay! I had my chance. No derogatory criticism intended, Steve. :)

Reminds me of a manager I once worked for, back in the day. He had trouble with the word "supervisorial" in something written. It sounded strange to him -- I thought so too, and that it should be "supervisory." So he compromised and pronounced it "SupervIsrael." Even stranger.
