    Two points:

    1. KMichael was applying for a Masters or Ph.D. not a BS.
    2. Their business model seems very succesful. It is their academic value and model that I question.

    1. True, however I understand that for any KWU degree there's a requirement of 5 years work experience. Since he only apparently had 2 years experience at acceptance it can't even be argued that if he continued working he would reach his 5 year anniversary before he graduated.
    2. I didn't mean to appear to be endorsing their business model. I just find it interesting in that it seems to differ from many other degree mills in that their academic classes appear that they may be pretty good. They also seem to be careful to not speak direct untruths, e.g., they don't claim bogus accreditation. However, I'm not prepared to call them an honest degree mill simply because they charge too much for an unaccredited degree that will have minimal utility. Unlike ULC who I've called an honest degree mill. :D

    :D

The ad campaign might even be considered successful if it put "Bob's Chicken Restaurant" next door out of business.

    Hi Bill

I am sorry if my post came across too blunt. I just meant that the qoute specified BS degrees. Also, I am not ready to give K-W a pass on the academic rigor question. From what I have heard they have textbooks, tests, and optional tutorials. While some have found them difficult, that is very limited evidence. On a non-emotional basis, I think it is likely the have a very good business model. I just would not consider it very ethical. :D

Is it possible that this is the High School equivalency exam (known around here as the G.R.E.)?

I can't find any information on the KWU Virtual Student Union about what this test might be. However, it appears that most of the discussion there is about what happens after acceptance. This examination would of course need to take place before acceptance into KWU.

  7. I love it!

(I have great contempt for the GRE.)

"Sir, I must now assess your grasp of general educational information. Have you ever watched the show Jeopardy? Do you frequently know the answers to the ten dollar questions? You do? Excellent!! Congratulations you pass."
