This is sooooo cool! Normally, guys like this accuse Degreeinfo participants of being sycophants of John Bear. Now I get to have my own! (Insert the theme song of "The Jeffersons" here.)

Thanks, Dave! (One "s" or two?) :D

But true. Or are you going to deny that you set up the Levicoff flame site?

As for how long, who knows? But you're the one who always starts this stuff, then cries when people fight back, and there are a lot of them around here.

I have watched in amazement over the years as Rich has been flogged for one thing or another (MIGS, etc) both here and on the other two sites. I do not think Rich has ever claimed to be without error and has had his own problems as he moved from program to program (he acknowledges these). Why people seem to have become obsessed with him is beyond me.

Rich is an interesting fellow who is to be congratulated for finishing his PhD. Certainly a substantially small part of the population complete accredited (RA or NA) doctorates. It seems his dissertation topic will have relevance for DL in general. He is helpful to folks trying to post here with questions and as far as I can tell honest with his advice.

Do I always agree with Rich...........heck no. We seem miles apart politically/religiously and I do not always agree with his assessments. Having said all of that it still amazes me the way some folks obsess about him. It is like Rich is a bad guy professional wrestling character where people love to hate him.

At any rate, Rich accomplished something big (an accredited doctorate). Even if I do finish my program, Rich has a PhD which is the creme de la creme of doctorates (NSF equivalency classifications aside), and in my book that is a big deal. Rich also is not anonymous (which many of us are) and therefore risks by putting himself out in the forum. I understand why people do not choose to do this thanks to a proliferation of nuts. One need only to think back to our friend Max on aed who had an obsessed nut causing problems for him and had to go underground.

You got guys who stumble through life as if they are teflon coated. Rich (God bless you) you seem to have not only missed the coating but ended up with some sort of magnet for other stuff. Hang in there many of us appreciate your contributions.

Actually it's very common for universities to offer courses on C.S. Lewis. He's taken very seriously in religion courses.

I did a Google search for ["cs lewis" university course], and in the first two pages of hits I found:

Santa Clara University, Bowling Green State University, University of Wisconson Madison, U. of Waterloo Canada and Emporia State University.

Here's an issue of Christian Scholar's Journal devoted to CS Lewis:

    http://www.hope.edu/resources/csr/XXVII4/

That's only from the first two pages of hits. There's a great deal more where that came from.

Thank you. I would add that we respectfully disagree on religion and politics. This is to be expected.

As for being a shit magnet, I guess it is a strange badge of honor. Lately, Gus, Bill Dayson, and I seem to be the targets. Fine. Others have also toted the water, so I guess it's our turn.

Some of what I've been through has been self-inflicted. I defended an idea (MIGS) while the execution of it was a joke. I bear that. But some of the other stuff is just obsessive, and weird.

  6. Well let's be clear about being a "shit magnet"

You have stated my name is NOT David Andersson".

You have stated I never served honorably in the US military.

You have stated I was never an officer.

You have stated that you never wrote statements you wrote.

You have NEVER apologized for your libel.

Sometimes a "shit magnet" is a "shit-stirrer" or as we used to say in the Army "an AR-15 magnet".

    You

Thanks for the clarification. Funny how you always start this stuff.

While we're on the subject, what are the sources of the degrees you list, as well as the name of the university where you are an assistant professor? Wouldn't want to mis-characterize those, too!

Well, Dave? What about the different spellings? What about your degrees and professorship? What about the law suit? What about it all?

    Waiting....
