Other distance learning sites

I haven't been following any of the other forums recently, so I took a look today.

alt.education.distance - Few posts these days, 90% garbage.

Distance Learning at About.com - Moderator David Butler is gone! Anyone who wants a soapbox should apply soon! The forum is currently quiet - few posts, but fortunately little garbage.

US News and World Report E-Learning forum - Quiet, but little garbage.

College Hints - I looked through this one extensively today. An active board, and 44MC keeps things under control. I like this one. The board has interesting posters (more so than degreeinfo) -- especially DrPC33, Marianus, Boris, D.D. (hc). Worth visiting.

Online College Info - Active board, but 100% garbage.


I find it interesting that the best boards appear to be primarily moderated by cops (or at least people in fields related to criminal justice, from what I can gather). Bruce at degreeinfo, 44MC at collegehints. And I think that another cop, me again, moderates the theology review board. Maybe it's in their nature to keep the peace??

Personally, I'm wandering off from the boards to focus on my blog. It's a better way to post the links to current events that I focus on.
