Thanks. That's progress! Maybe after this coronavirus pandemic more online Ph.D. programs will pop up in History. I don't know much about Liberty, but I tried a Christian university once, I went there a year, I didn't like it.

Yes. It will be interesting to see the aftereffects of Covid-19 on higher education. Liberty is as Christian as it gets. Unlike some schools that are Christian or Catholic in name, all courses at Liberty, including online, are taught from a Christian worldview. Liberty's president is a clown and an embarrassment to the school.

I don't mind being taught from a Christian perspective. What I didn't like was mandatory chapel, I was an on-campus student. I found their quizing procedures very strange. For example: every day we would had a quiz covering yesterday's homework (not in every class). Question 5 out of 5 would ask if you completly read the assignment(it mentioned that skimming didn't count), if you didn't, that max you would get on a quiz would be 4/5 80%. Then at the end of the year I found out that a lot of students would lie and then send their instructors emails asking them for forgiveness that they lied. My gpa really suffered there, 2.5. Then I transferred to USC and averaged 3.5.

    Any strange practices at Liberty?

Wow! That's interesting. I would never want to attend such a school, including Liberty on-campus. I know Liberty requires weekly convocation (worship) each week. Students are allowed two excused absences for the year. I also know that they have dress code standards, which I believe are very modest.

Why is Liberty's phd program so long in History? It is at 72 credit hours. Liberty's phd in music education is only 45.

All of Liberty's Ph.D. programs require at least 60 credits. Those exceeding 60 credits include Engineering (63 credits), History (72 credits), and Anatomy and Cell Biology (96 credits). Some professional doctorates require 60 credits (Ed.D. in Community Care and Counseling, Ed.D. in Christian Education Leadership, and the DBA). Liberty offers a DME (Doctor of Music Education) not a Ph.D. The DME is a professional doctorate (not research-based). Other professional doctorates at Liberty requiring less than 60 credits include D.Min. (30 credits), DNP (41-58 credits), DME (45 credits), DWS (45 credits), DPA (48 credits), DSL (51 credits), and Ed.D. (School of Education) (54 credits).
