That's true. I just said it that way because most people would rightly expect the U.S. has a similar life expectancy to other high income countries, whereas many people (e.g., Americans who've never lived abroad) often make weird assumptions about middle and lower income countries.

My mistake. I thought that in B.C. at least that you could get an earlier appointment for things like that if you were willing to pay the whole cost yourself and not have the provincial system pay.

No focus. You mentioned a two tier system, I just followed your conversational lead. As for rubbing shoulders with the proles, I don't think it's it's that, I just think people in any country will do what they can to get the best healthcare possible.

People will. If they can afford it, right? A healthcare system is supposed to get people help they need when they need it - which does not correlate well with ability to pay. Like, you know, people losing jobs because of a pandemic (losing pay AND medical coverage), when they more likely need medical services - because of a pandemic. Even on personal level, suppose you can't work because of some chronic condition - and need to pay hundreds of thousands, because of your chronic condition. There is really no substitute for universal coverage; that's why people in Canada or UK will drum out of town any pol who dares to mess with Medicare or NHS.

Flynn is a felon, conspiracy nut, and a guy creepily close to Putin. Who cares what his lawyers whipping out to try and keep his ass out of jail.

BTW, Comey gifted Trump Presidency with his last minute announcements. I guess some people don't know the word "gratitude".

Federal Judge overseeing Flynn's trial dropped a bomb, revealing that the agents’ 302 summary of his interview was dated August 22, 2017. As others have already noted, the August 22, 2017 date is a “striking detail” because that puts the 302 report “nearly seven months after the Flynn interview.” When added to facts already known, this revelation takes on a much greater significance.

First, text messages between Strzok and former FBI Attorney Lisa Page indicate that Strzok wrote his notes from the Flynn interview shortly after he questioned the national security advisor on January 24, 2017. Specifically, on February 14, 2017, Strzok texted Page, “Also, is Andy good with F 302?” Page responded, “Launch on f 302.” Given Strzok’s role in the questioning Flynn, the date (three weeks from the interview), the notation “F 302,” and Page’s position as special counsel to Andrew McCabe, it seems extremely likely that these text exchanges concerned February 2017, 302 summary of the Flynn interview.

The question is if the report and commentary are accurate?
A commentary can be truthful and accurate and can be biased and distorted.
It's hard to call the drive-by media Journalism, they are clearly political operatives of the left.
So we have all these divisions and have to filter the info.

Is it accurate that Trump fired Michael Flynn? For lying? Did Trump made a mistake there?
    Seriously, this is grasping straws.

President Trump said Thursday that his former White House aide Mike Flynn is “essentially exonerated” of lying to the FBI after a new document release.
President Donald Trump stated at the daily White House coronavirus press conference that he would consider rehiring his former national security advisor, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.

“What they did to General Flynn was a disgrace,” Trump said on Thursday afternoon when asked by Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts about new details on the FBI’s investigation of Flynn.

Then I guess Trump really screwed the pooch that time, since he fired Flynn over this.

This is all politics. President Trump was a "rookie" President then. Presidents are people and capable of making mistakes especially if they are presented with possibly "false" reports
from someone who is in my opinion best of the best, but there is no such thing as 100% pure, in any organization there can be % of people who may be motivated differently and at times deal in grey area.
Be it in the church among priests or police, politicians, and many others, etc as we know some go astray.
Anyway who am I to judge, I only have the news to go by and may not know anything.
I respect and salute our agencies and people who work tirelessly to protect our freedom and our safety.

Michael Flynn admitted lying to FBI about his contacts with Russians. And lobbying for Turkey without disclosure; that's just the fact. He's a felon.

I got yelled at by an elderly priest for 40 minutes straight, and am very disillusioned about a man who is still technically my bishop, and have problems with all levels of elected officials in our district (from both major parties, yah). So yes, yes they can. In this particular case, Trump erred when he appointed Flynn in the first place.
    Yes. Yes, you may.
And you decided to show it by spreading lies about these people?

I didn't decide to spread lies and not about the 99% of dedicated great people, I just quoted some news sources. Just like some who may be spreading lies about our President based on some possibly fake news.
"Як ти можеш сказати до брата свого: Давай, брате, я заскалку вийму із ока твого, сам колоди, що в оці твоїм, не вбачаючи?"

No, vuyko. What I said Donalt Trump is a loser as President, which is first, my opinion, and second, not false. Also, he did fire a liar and unregistered foreign agent Michael Flynn, and he did try to extort Ukraine: both these things are plain from the official record. Now, whether or not that latter thing constitutes impeachable offence is a matter of opinion - and in my opinion, it absolutely does.

Let me tell you what's bothering me. During the impeachment trial, Alexander Vyndman gave testimony. Factual testimony; no one seriously doubts that. So, the Trump cheerleaders proceeded to question his loyalty, patriotism, and whether he was true American - based on the fact he was born in Ukraine. Let me remind you that the guy is an Army Ranger with CIB and Purple Heart. You were born in Ukraine, as well. Yet this is the crowd you choose to run with, and with you a big chunk of our community. I can't do it, I have dignity and self respect, and don't want THIS to be where my children grow up.

    Stanislav,
Let me tell you something about the man.
Michael Flynn is a retired Lieutenant General in the United States Army, where he served from 1981 until 2014. While in the Army, General Flynn served in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he played key roles in shaping intelligence strategies related to counterterrorism. Flynn has served as the director of intelligence for the Joint Special Operations Command and the director of intelligence for U.S. Central Command. In 2012, President Barack Obama nominated him to serve as the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. He was in that role until 2014 when he retired.

I would say that this is a special man, American Patriot.

Now when and why did General Flynn became a target?

After leaving the DIA, Michael Flynn emerged as a fierce critic of the Obama Administration’s foreign policy. He was later a key foreign policy adviser and surrogate during Trump’s presidential campaign, at one point leading a chant of “lock her up” against Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton from the stage of the Republican National Convention.

As part of his plea agreement, Flynn has agreed to cooperate with the investigation and has also indicated that Trump transition officials directed his contacts with the Russians, according to the Associated Press.
As we know today there is suspicion by the Federal judge overseeing his case that some documents are questionable it was in the news and posted some of it in an earlier post.
President Trump said Thursday that his former White House aide Mike Flynn is “essentially exonerated” of lying to the FBI after a new document release.

This man served the US honorably and politics destroyed him.
    Not the first one.

DOJ cleared Flynn of being a Russian agent in a memo as far back as January 2017 .
The new documents further undermine the view of both the legitimacy and motivations of those investigations under former FBI director James Comey and the case against him may be dismissed.

    Stanislav,

"based on the fact he was born in Ukraine" No the criticism was for other reasons.
This is what was reported and why Vindman patriotism was questioned. This is all alleged, I have no first knowledge.

Again this is reported as coming from Vindman's commanding officer.

It does not matter what other smears your trolls cooked up; there was plenty of innuendo from prominent Trumpists based on his place of birth.
As to being chummy with Russians, do you want to go there, sport? Photos from the Oval Office featuring Russian ambassador (who might as well wear his KGB insignia on his jacket), taken by RUSSIAN press (American press was barred)? Trump Hotel Baku story (that was technically on Ivanka)? The fact that the Trumps are apparently on the first names basis with the Agalarovs (who as you know are old stock KGB nomenklatura, with familial ties with the Alievs) - according to e-mail Don Jr released? Or Flynn LEADING A STANDING OVATION after Putin's speech at the RT shinding? Hiring of Paul Manafort (and you know how much evil that man caused in Ukraine)?

As for Vyndman's testimony, it broadly agreed with the memo. Your tribe ATTACKS HIM FOR TELLING THE TRUTH, again, USING OUR SHARED NATIONAL ORIGIN as bait. This is incredibly dishonorable.

Your tribe seems like ATTACKS is what they did all the last 3+ years.
There was no shared national origin in play at all.
And if Vindmans commanding officer's allegations are correct? Do you support such behavior?
