  2. Does TSU follow the trend of the other Texas colleges in making tuition cost as much as an Ivy League school for out-of-state residents ?

I haven't looked yet. I think this is their first online doctorate, but don't quote me on that. Plus, some institutions charge more for their business programs, so I don't know if there's an existing online program that can be used as a tuition reference.

It's not a big deal, but to prevent future confusion, TSU is Texas Southern University. Texas State University goes by Txstate.

I have a feeling the tuition and fees will be around $75,000.00 as a minimum of $120,000.00. They properly looked at other AACSB DBA markets like Jacksonville University, Drexel University,

That’s a pretty fair range, I think. There are only 2 AACSB-accredited low-residency/distance DBAs with sticker price below $75,000. Prairie View A&M (TX public university, part of the A&M system) recently started a low-residency DBA with sticker price $90,000. I wouldn’t think TX State would want to/need to substantially undercut that.

NOTE: My statement was about US universities; there may be foreign degrees below that price point with AACSB accreditation.

Wow, $90,000 for a DBA from a school that has no reputation and is ONLINE. nah! I feel these are the cash cow for the school.

    They are absolutely cash cows.

They are also often a status symbol for senior managers and successful entrepreneurs who either have their degrees paid for by their companies or who make enough that $30 or $40 grand per year doesn’t matter too much.

University of Texas-Dallas’s DBA is $120,000, but that at least includes in-person classes on Saturdays.

It is really about the AACSB accreditation. This can be gold if combined with something life accounting or finance. AACSB schools start a tenure track faculty at 100K+ for accounting or finance, but you must have a doctorate from an AACSB accredited school. The market are lecturers or adjuncts that need the doctorate to jump to tenure track positions.

If that is the case, West Virginia University's online DBA or at least Marshall University's online would do the trick with less cost and better reputation.
