Sadly, there are very few schools representing my part of the country (Yale, Vermont, Northeastern). The first round starts on the 21st and the Finals are on April 8th. I'll be a bit more excited when the women's tournament gets rolling. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/ncaa-bracket-2019-printable-march-madness-bracket-tournament-seeds-set-on-selection-sunday-show/
Go Zags! They are the only team in the Western US that I can see going all the way to the finals. https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/basketball-men/d1 I like Nevada too, they open on 3/21 against Florida on TNT and that should be a good game, pretty evenly matched. But they will probably get knocked out on 3/23 when they meet Michigan. The only SF bay area team to get in is St. Mary's. But they open up against Villanova which will be a tough test.
Of course, the UConn women are back in the Final Four (semi-final v. Notre Dame tomorrow) and I'm voting for a Finals showdown between UConn and Baylor. HUSKIES!!!
Having lived in Seattle for 15 years. I tend to think UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON when someone mentions the HUSKIES.
I remember listening to radio sports shows for years and hearing people talk about "Yukon". I'd never heard of any universities in the Yukon, certainly none that were college basketball powers. It was a while before I learned that they were really talking about Connecticut. I'm still not sure that I believe in this school. Damn right!
I love it when we get thread crossovers. Here's the intersection of "March Madness" and the "End of the World" threads https://www.latimes.com/sports/story/2020-03-02/ncaa-march-madness-coronavirus-no-fans Also, there's already talk about cancelling the Summer Olympics (Tokyo)
