OK, if you must know, I like threads about mentally ill people with multiple graduate degrees. It gives me a sense of validation. :D

I don't think at all that this is mentally ill. Just because someone is very passionated about his hobby doesn't make him "ill". Maybe he picked an a bit unusual area.
    For example this guy:
Faculty Experts Guide -- FIU College of Business Administration
seems to have done over 10 PhDs (mainly Uk/Eu by research degrees). I guess he could have stopped a lot earlier but he seems to particularly enjoy that process.

Ben Bolger is now a visiting assistant professor at The College of William and Mary. He received his doctorate at the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2008. He has a website that will essentially tell you how awesome he thinks he is.
I don't think he is just collecting degrees for the sake of having them, I think he is collecting degrees from the most prestigious universities on the planet just to have them. Stanford, Columbia, Harvard, Dartmouth, Oxford, Cambridge.....

Say what you will about Dr. McGee's motives, I was impressed that he received his Accounting undergraduate degree from TESC.

Ah! OK, thanks for really clarifying. I though maybe I missed an update or something to the thread. No worries. :) We all have our different motivations and validating factors for advanced education.

    I'm jealous :)

Seriously, this guy comes across as a highly productive academic, writing lots of stuff in his field. This is consistent with his faculty position at a decent state university. Picking up more degrees for this is just a personal quirk.
