George Brown: Carpathian blessings on your head! Congrats on bringing the true faith to Tasmania.
May your glass of tuica always be full and your porkpie hat always slightly too small!
Yours for free speech (and for Australian DL universities that answer their e-mail!!!! unlike certain others I could name), Janko.

Seems to ME that the patron saint of diploma mill operators should be St. Valentine. It seems he never existed!

The Louisiana Board of Regents has voted to force four unaccredited distance-learning institutions that are based in Louisiana to leave the state. [...] "I would agree with that," said John Bear [...]. [...] Bienville University already has incorporated in Mississippi, said Mr. Bear. He said it is run by Thomas J. Kirk, who spent time in prison after pleading guilty to federal charges of mail and tax fraud after a 1996 raid by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents at LaSalle University, a Louisiana-based distance-learning institution that he founded.

Mr. Kirk is now involved with Novus University whose address is in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I would love to know on what basis Louisiana officials are going along with this.

Did any of this affect Louisiana Baptist University? Does anyone know if Louisiana Baptist University is heading for accreditation?

LBu still states this "LBU holds full institutional approval from the Association of Christian Colleges and Theological Schools."

    Academically, that means nothing.

Yes, it means nothing because the agency is a nothing. However, would they not have to dump such a statement if they were seriously attempting accreditation?

    "DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM
In cooperation with the American Christian College and Seminary of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, LBU now offers a dual degree program for a Masters in Education. American Christian College and Seminary is accredited by TRACS and is approved by ACSI. This will assist our students in receiving teacher certification by ACSI.
In order for students to receive the dual degree they must complete 18 semester hours through LBU then complete the last eighteen semester hours through ACCS. All courses will be administered by LBU."
