First off, it's meaningless symbolism, the faculty can't revoke any degree, honorary or otherwise. Second, I'm about as surprised that an overwhelmingly liberal faculty pulled this stunt as I am that the sun came up this morning. With a real Ivy League degree, I think President Trump will be just fine, honorary Lehigh degree or not.
They can recommend the University to revoke degree - this is not only possible, but happened many times. I'd say Lehigh looked silly awarding this degree in the first place, and the faculty looks silly now "revoking" it. I'm all for embarrassing the stable genius, but this does not do it.
