My FBI contact tells me that the accounting firm that does Trump's financial statements and returns, Mazers, is also the firm that handles Axact in Pakistan.

And the point is? Accounting firms typically have many clients. Mazars, in fact, has over 20,000 employees working in 86 countries. Don't you think it's a wee bit of a stretch to try to make some kind of connection?

Just for the record, I would say the same thing regardless of who is occupying the White House.

    Dear Mr. Aurelius
Yes, I think it's a wee bit of a stretch. Not a big honking one. Just a wee bit of one.
    Yours sincerely,

If being a client of Mazars means that one has a "connection" with Axact, then most of the large corporations in France must be "connected" with Axact. Airbus, Alstom, Alcatel-Lucent, Renault, Pugeot-Citroen, Total and on and on.

The British government is apparently also "connected" with Axact. Mazar UK says, "In March 2016 we were appointed by the National Audit Office onto its framework for financial audit of central government bodies and NDPBs. " They also seem to have a contract with the Government Internal Audit Agency there.

Mazars doesn't seem to make its client list in the United States public. One wonders which American corporations, public agencies and non-profits employ Mazars services and are "connected" in this extraordinarily fanciful way with Axact. I'd guess that the FBI itself probably is a Mazars client.

(John certainly gets an 'A' for imagination.)
