Not dumb. I asked the same question when I started. Most sheep owners provide a barn. Often times my sheep will sleep outside, even in cold weather. It's a bit distressing the first time you go out at sunrise and find your sheep sleeping outside and they've got frost on their backs. Just last week I found mine sleeping outside while it was snowing. On the coldest nights they will sleep in the barn. My current barn is about 800 sq. ft. It has a dirt floor (with mulch hay bedding) and a section is fenced off for food storage. Sheep are susceptible to lung problems and so ventilation is key. The doors and windows are always open. I only close them in the summer when there's going to be a big thunderstorm. It just helps to keep things dry. Many sheep owners have shelters with only three sides. During the winter it's not unusual to find them laying in the snow. It's taken me a few years to relax about this.

What a cute dog!!!! Are his markings kind of like a German Shepard?

He looks a lot like a mini German Shepard with the buggy Chi eyes, actually. The vet said it's a weird color for both of his breeds, so he may have something else in him somewhere.

My female Johnson bulldog is very muscular. It's funny, people either love her or are terrified of her. The funny thing is usually mothers with little girls and babies go right up to her and pet her. It is usually the big tough guys who look at her with fear and suspicion. A Johnson bulldog is the old bulldog from the South, same as "Petey" from the little rascals show. Here is a link for a pic of one:

This dog looks identical to my bulldog Lulu. I think some people get scared because the confuse her with a pitbull, a totally different breed, although loving if raised right. These dogs can pull 3000 pounds of cinder blocks easy. The are VERY strong, and can wrestle around with the biggest of dogs. Great dogs.

Here is a picture of dog exactly like my French bulldog Ace. Lulu and Ace look funny playing around together. French Bulldogs are also referred to as "bats" because of the ears.

    Have fun with your dog!

Here's a pomchi. (My daughter recently edited the charming book, Designer Dogs, all about pomchis, labradoodles, puggles, Lhasa Poopsoes, Doodleman Pinschers, and the like.)

Those are nice dogs. I had a German style boxer (they have Mastiff in them). The German Boxers are heavy boned and have bigger Mastiff type heads. They are also deep chested.

We have two Dachshunds, one which came from a breeder (Before we knew any better) and the other came from Central Texas Dachshund Rescue which my wife and I have volunteered with for about 2-3 years now if not longer....

    Great group.

You should buy a CD from them.... :)

Nice story... it infuriates me when people abandon or abuse their animals. If you don't want them then don't get them. What really ticks me off is that the punishment for cruelty against animals is not more severe. If you abuse an animal you should get more than just probation and a fine.
