While the chance of an arrest and a trial are virtually nil for the foreseeable future… can’t help but think this is simply a game changer. People, unfortunately, can turn a blind eye to or give partial justification to an unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation, the war crimes of indiscriminate destruction and mass murder, but this detailed of a systematic abduction of a nations children… we have reached the stage of just evil.
I'm an American and we haven't signed on to the ICC, so I won't draw an assessment of its action regarding Putin. But I will say I'd rather we did sign onto the ICC.
I think we reached that a while ago - well before the Russia-Ukraine war - or the Crimean invasion. If those well-publicized poisonings weren't evil - what is? And I'm sure they were not the first evil acts. This is just the latest true evil in a lamentable series.
It's about time the ICC made a stink about this. Hopefully, other international bodies and even nations hold Putin to account for this as well. Ukrainians, many children amongst them, have been detained and deported to God knows where (Siberia?) for months on end now, but at least the world is slowly waking up to these realities. That's not to mention the disappearances of Russian nationals who have stood up against the invasion. Unlike his recent photo op in Mariupol, I don't imagine Putin (nor his friends) will be smiling if they're ever standing trial for their crimes. (A man can dream, right?)

My daughter Fiona calls this "Howler Monkey Syndrome". https://www.vice.com/en/article/kb7eew/the-louder-the-monkey-the-smaller-its-balls-study-finds-42361364663309
I like this but I'm not sure how this really fits into the general populations of human males. For example, I've always guessed that my balls were average in size. But recognize that this is just based on the very small sample size of only two friends and myself at the age of 13.
