Interesting. I never really thought Hezbollah's heart was with Hamas in Gaza. I wonder if the Hamas leadership has figured out yet how utterly alone they are?

Donald Trump says he will bring peace to the Middle East. Doesn't say how.

    60 day initially sees fire.
Under the deal reached, the ceasefire will be effective as of 4 a.m. Wednesday local time and fighting across the Lebanese-Israeli border "will end," Pr. Biden said. But as Pr. Biden noted, the ceasefire does not apply to the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas.

"This is designed to be a permanent cessation of hostilities," he added. "What is left of Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations will not be allowed, I emphasize, will not be allowed, to threaten the security of Israel ever again."
Over the next 60 days, the Lebanese Army and state security forces will take control once again, he said, and Israel will gradually withdraw its remaining forces.
    -------------
I wonder if Iran already sent 100s of millions to Hezbollah to buy weapons and resupply.

US president says Israel-Hezbollah truce ‘designed to be a permanent cessation of hostilities’ * IDF pounds Beirut as north bombarded by rockets, drones * Soldier killed in Gaza

Don't worry about Trump. As per usual, he'll slap his name on it and claim it as his.

Hezbollah, yes. But how does he intend to stop the slaughter in Gaza? Just wait until every Gazan is dead or in exile and call it peace?

    War in Gaza is tragic.
So far out of 44,000 dead, 30,000+ are Hamas terrorists.
Hamas inflating the #s of civilians catualties.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson:
To those who denied, delayed weapons to Israel. And has put up roadblock after roadblock against Israel and delayed victory. Israel's military success was due to US friends help and in spite of the obsticles. Israel hops the administration of US President will pave the way for sustainable peace, because peace only comes through strength, especially in Mid East.

    By whose count?

  8. Lerner

    Lerner Well-Known Member

    Not by Hamas approved sources.
30,000 count is males of combat age and terrorists who were killed in action.
Basically the opposite of what Hamas/ Gaza Health Ministry reported.
GHM reported 60% of catualties are not of combat age.
GHM is unreliable amd can't be trusted.

One thing is for sure, Lerner's statement, "Hamas inflating the #s of civilians casualties." is not accurate since the Hamas Gaza Health Ministry doesn't differentiate between civilian and Hamas "soldiers".

    You didn't answer Rich's question.

On October 16, the health ministry told global media that an Israeli airstrike was responsible for an explosion that killed 500 Palestinians at the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in northern Gaza. U.S. media quickly reported the story even though it became clear within hours there was no evidence to support claims of an airstrike or a death toll close to 500. Soon, evidence emerged showing that a rocket fired by Palestinian terrorists was nearly certain to have caused a blast in the hospital’s parking lot. An unclassified U.S. intelligence report on October 18 said the blast likely caused between 100 to 300 deaths, and it leaned towards casualty estimates at “the low end of the 100-to-300 spectrum.”

Nevertheless, the health ministry does not identify the individuals who died as a result of errant Palestinian fire, even though the Israel Defense Forces reported that 12 percent of rockets fired during the first month of the war fell inside Gaza — more than 1,000 total misfires.

Hamas GHM stated that 60% are non combat age civilians, so they do difrintuate. Hamas is not allowing GHM report on #s of combatants killed.

Rich's question was where you got the numbers you were stating for civilian deaths and Hamas fighter deaths.

My sources are Public, Gov and other Israeli channels., I trust them more than Hamas Gaza Health Ministry
The IDF restricts entry into the Gaza Strip, and as a result, there has been no independent verification of those figures.
    Published: May 13, 2024
Hamas, the ruling authority in Gaza, controls the government entities that provide data on deaths in Gaza. These numbers cannot currently be independently verified.
Typically, when a conflict occurs, the U.N. gets its casualty data from what Haq described as "our trusted sources on the ground," then it cross-checks that information. The scale and intensity of the fighting in Gaza, however, sets this conflict apart and, in this case, Haq said, the U.N. has no means to verify firsthand the Ministry of Health’s data.

    As to my sources:
They are more trust wordy from accredited Israeli media and Gov.

    In May 2024:
According to the revised data, women and children now constitute 36% – instead of the previously claimed 70% – of total Gazan fatalities.
Professors Gregory Rose, Lewi Stone and Tom Simpson have spent months analyzing Hamas figures and published their findings in March. They were the first to conclude that the figure of 70% was statistically impossible.

Critics have systematically blasted Israel for allegedly killing a disproportionate number of women and children.

    Spring 2024:
Over the past seven months, Hamas has propagated the claim that the majority of casualties were women and children. However, recent UN data reveals a different composition of fatalities: 40% were men, while children accounted for 32% and women 20%.

Professor Abraham Wyner, a prominent statistics expert from UPenn Wharton’s Department of Statistics and Data Science, also published a detailed article in March on this subject. Wyner accused Hamas of fabricating the number of civilian fatalities in order to increase international pressure on Israel to end its military operation.

The statistics professor argued that the alleged fatalities were increasing with unrealistic regularity.

“The graph of total deaths by date is increasing with almost ‘metronomical’ linearity,” Wyner wrote in Tablet Magazine. “There should be days with twice the average or more and others with half or less.”

Furthermore, Wyner noted that the data provided by Hamas lacked a correlation between the numbers of women and children.

“Consequently, on the days with many women casualties, there should be large numbers of children casualties, and on the days when just a few women are reported to have been killed, just a few children should be reported,” he wrote.

Later in March, Gabriel Epstein from The Washington Institute provided similar conclusions in his analytical piece, “Gaza Fatality Data Has Become Completely Unreliable.”

The official Gaza death figures do not distinguish between civilians and armed terrorists.
Spring 2024 - The Israeli military has estimated that it has eliminated between 14,000 and 15,000 terrorists from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The Gaza Health Ministry (GHM) also does not provide data showing how many deaths resulted from misfired Hamas rockets and missiles.
Since then, another estimated 10,000 terrorists been eliminated. Total 25,000, Israel also took out agents of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, all together closer to 30,000 terrorists by now.

Israeli gov KM reported that the # of civilians casualties in Gaza are much lower than GHM is reporting.

    Sept 17, 2024:

Even the United Nations, which generally relies on the GHM's figures, took the unusual step of halving the number of women and children it reported as killed in the May conflict, citing erroneous figures in the GHM’s reports.

The Israel Defense Forces said Thursday that it had carried out an airstrike on a Hezbollah facility in southern Lebanon, less than two days into a fragile ceasefire with the Iran-backed terror group and hours after firing warning shots at suspects who approached border areas that are still off-limits according to the truce.

Fighter jets struck the facility, which was used to hold medium-range rockets, after identifying activity there, according to the military.

“The IDF is deployed in southern Lebanon, acting and thwarting any violation of the ceasefire agreement,” the IDF added.

So, IDF has destroyed around 30,000 terrorists in Gaza now.

    Hamas
    quote:
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades is Hamas' military wing.[292][293] While the number of members is known only to the Brigades leadership, Israel estimates the Brigades have a core of several hundred members who receive military style training, including training in Iran and in Syria (before the Syrian Civil War).[294] Additionally, the brigades have an estimated 10,000–17,000 operatives,[282][295] other sources say 15,000–40,000 militants,[296][297][undue weight?discuss] forming a backup force whenever circumstances call for reinforcements for the Brigade.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas

So two sources say Hamas combatants number was 10,000 to 17,000 and two other other sources say it was 15,000 to 40,000 and IDF has destroyed 30,000!!! Well according to that Hamas has been totally wiped out!

So who is the IDF fighting in Gaza now?

    :p

Hamas is still there, and create rockets, that at first oportunity will be shot at Israel.
There are new recruits and still exiting batalions, Israel controls it like West Bank, preventive operations.
2 million Gazans, can produce 500,000 army.
