Twenty years after the Supreme Court decision known as Bush v. Gore effectively decided a presidential election, it’s back on the country’s mind.
It appears things will go to court again and it may take months. Pennsylvania lawsuit draws on the “equal protection” argument cited in Bush vs Gore.
Court held that this lack of uniformity violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution, which guarantees equal weight for votes.
Post mark and signature make the ballot valid.
Issues such as signature verification, post marked dates etc also criticized.
May not be about voters intent like in 2000 but rules and regulations.
There were opinions shared and some see Bush Gore SCOTUS ruling as precedent.

The counting always takes a long time. But the race is close, so authoritative news sources have not yet projected winners in a few states.

It always takes that long to count all the votes and certify the elections. What is unusual is the number of votes overall, the number of votes Republican legislatures refused to allow to be counted before Election Day, and the closeness of the race.

Even a landslide would take longer than this. It's just that the networks would have been more comfortable projecting the winner in such a case. I suspect that will take place today.

No, it won't. It can't. Under the US Constitution and election laws, the states have a deadline (December 8th, IIRC) to declare their slates of Electoral College voters. If a state cannot do that, it might choose to send competing slates. If so, the House of Representatives would decide which slate is valid. If that determination cannot be made, those electors will be set aside.

In other words, if Biden wins either Georgia or Arizona, plus Nevada, the PA votes become immaterial; he'll have a majority without them. And even if they WERE material, the EC would still vote and certify that vote on December 14 (IIRC). If there is a majority, that person becomes President. If not, it goes to the House of Representatives. (Because each state delegation gets one vote, and because Republicans have majorities in more state delegations than do Democrats, Trump would likely become president and Pence would likely be elected VP.)

But none of that will happen. There is no evidence of any wrong-doing that would tip the scales here. I suspect--but cannot know--that Biden will win PA, GA, NV, and AZ, with Trump taking NC. Biden wins and becomes the 47th POTUS on January 20th. (47th? Figure it out.)

Hahaha, you must not watch US lamestream media. They put a bow on this thing several months ago.

I can't decide whether you think Trump will resign a day ahead of time so Pence can pardon him Ford-style, or whether you think he'll hate losing so much that he strokes out. ;)

Serious harm? What have 4+ years of Russia lies (remember reporting of golden shower hookers and Trump?), the plandemic response, ObLM, and pantifa done?

December 15th, approximately 3am. Jet waiting at Manassas Airport. I like the Gulfstream 650. (Seats eight, range of 7,000 nautical miles. Seats 8, enough for three kids and their spouses and significant others--three less-culpable stay behind) Next stop: Riyadh.

I remember the Nixon-era joke - so, who will pardon Pence for pardoning Trump? :)

Yes, it appears very close that Biden will take additional states were he is leading now.

GA1 is likely going for a run-off. But yeah, it can turn your way too.

I am enjoying the street celebrations outside the White House. Trump can hear them, I'm sure. I don't recall anything like this level of jubilation since Nixon resigned.

Only natural. Trump's tenure is the first time we've seen this level of chaos, disorder and dissent in the White House since Nixon reigned.
