Grads say social media more important than salary

For salary employees it is kind of different. I worked in IT and you are right - there is no my time/your time...it is our time.

 

A guy that I hired was very smart and capable, but we had to let him go after he bought his Android phone. He kept Fing with it all the time at work. His productivity immediately suffered when he got that phone. Things that took me 2 hours to complete would take him weeks. I didn't expect him to be able to match my productivity but if it takes me 2 hours, it cannot take you more than a day to do what I can do. But it would literally take him weeks to produce anything. This from a computer programmer. It was sad and I liked the guy but he couldn't stay off of his phone. I think he was actually messing around on forums online.
