Haha, they're not the same. The um.. less-recognized school WANTS you to be reminded of the good school. But advice to "really look into" everything is always good.

You'd be surprised...
"Obscure" as in "most people not aware of it". I'm from Kyiv, and if someone from there tells me they attended "medical institute" I'll immediately assume "Bohomolets". Not one of the several private outfits, among which this one (founded 2019) is one of the newest. But, yeah, it is licensed to teach Medicine, so we know that at least the curriculum is standard. Looks like this is a sort of an "offshore medical school", catering to students in Asia. They have 204 medical students; next biggest major is Management with 37. Not a large school.

During WWI, there was a real project to install a von Habsburg-Lothringen as King of Ukraine. Would not have been the worst outcome, too. Prince Vasyl took up a Ukrainian identity and by most accounts was a very decent person (served as an officer for Ukrainian People's Republic and ended up arrested by SMERSH; died in custody). His father and older brother, interestingly, become loyal Poles (and, yes, the father actively campaigned for a throne of Poland for himself or the older son; there was even briefly the "Kingdom of Poland", but they never got to installing a King).

Yes - I read a little about him. Seeing that the President of IEU's given names are Franz Volodymyr, I figured there was a direct and immediate family connection between the two -- haven't been able to verify exactly what it is -- but I'll probably find a family tree somewhere.

 

Wow! This is difficult. Family trees I've found for the Habsburg-Lothringen dynasty are abbreviated in a lot of cases. They list a couple, then any child of theirs who became really well-known - and carry a notation, e.g. "and 7 siblings." Still working on it...
