Oh sure, get everybody else hooked on the these things and then pass on it yourself. What are you...some kind of illicit cert dealer? :D

Never mind, I figured out you can print out a certificate after each exam, duh! I like the note they added on the certificate stating It can be verified (test) at the link provided.

I am going to add this to my resume! I may be trying for a promotion in 1/06, and this will look good on my resume.

    Take care,

    Abner :)

How would you show it on your resume?

Would you put Rutgers Skill Certification Center as it shows on their "What you get" page?

or could you put Supervision and Management Fundamentals Certificate, Rutgers University?

I would list it as the second option you mentioned.

So am a I understanding that even if I pay the $35 I don't actually get my certificate but just my grade? And after I pay for seven or so grades, then I will get seven or so certificates?

Hey...I just thought there might be some interest....looks like I was right.

Yeah...I'll give the tests a shot...why not. I'll just freeze my credit card in an ice block before I take the exams.:D

Seriously though. I'm still looking for an inexpensive yet recognized management cert. So far I've got it down to Tulane and UofL.....which UofL is the less expensive of the two...but then most people I speak with recommend Tulane highly. I'm torn....but it's a good place to be. Either I can win or I can win.:D

My own personal feeling is if you are in the U.S., stick with a U.S. degree whenever possible. I'd go with Tulane.

I'm not sure, but I believe there are individual certificates that come after each individual test. Those are the certificates you print yourself. After you complete all of the tests for your particular skill set, you get the actual certificate for the whole shebang. If I'm wrong about this, someone can correct me.

After Christmas, I think I'll tackle the Marketing Communications certificate.

So, how many of you taking the tests will put this on your resume, and your Degreeinfo signature?

TCord...if what you say is true...you get a final "officialized" cert, then I would list it on my resume under "Professional Certifications" and not under "Education".

However, if this is just some entry into a database with a certificate you print at home....I'd probably leave it off. I don't know....it depends on how involved Rutgers is in their own program.

Thanks for bringing these two schools up on this forum. I checked out the CSUS and passed the Supervision and Management Certification, and it was rather difficult. Made 80% on the first go and went ahead and paid the $50 for it.
Took the Rutgers cert. test in Financial Management and did not pass it. Very difficult questions so I will have to brush up on it.

I am going to proudly display this over 1 hour test certification and may take a few more in the sales and Marketing arena as this is another area I would like to have more documented training and skill assessment in.

Thanks again for bringing this up. These are two great schools and it will be a joy to complete a few more.

Beats my $6K+ certification with Cornell in terms of cost. I can say that for sure.

    Good luck gang on these.

    Jimmy:

When I first took the test, I thought you had to take all of the exams to obtain a certificate. Then I went back in and noticed you can print a certificate after each exam.

So basically, I obtained a great cert. for $35.00, from Rutgers!!! How can you go wrong! It will look great on my resume, my wife is going to do the same thing.

You print the certificate yourself. What I like is they have a note on the cert indicating a link where an employer can verify you actually received it!!!

    Take care,

    Thanks Abner.

Does the certificate indicate any type of hours, say .5, etc.?

No. It has the date it was awarded along with the following statement:

Awarded in accordance with Rutgers Skill Certification Center Skill Testing process.
    For more information visit skillcenter.rutgers.edu

    Then at the very bottom:

Verify this certificate online at http://ecertificate.ce.com/0a9hc2

I think it is a great addition to any resume. For the $35.00 I get to list Rutgers!

    Merry Christmas Jimmy!

Interesting post. Brainbench certifications are good for 3 years. After they run out you must retest and pay the fee to continue certification. They state this is because information changes in these technical type fields and you must keep up with the new knowlege and skills. Are these certifications from Rutgers for a specified time period or for "life"?

Upon second thought, I would list it on my resume....still not under education, but under "Professional Certs" or the like. This will get the word "Rutgers" on the resume for any of those electronic filtering devices that HR types swear they don't use.:D

The cert I printed is for Interpersonal Communication in the Workplace. There is no expiration date, only the date received.
