All, After 4-1/2 long years I have finally finished my MBA, submitted my dissertation this morning! I have been studying at Henley Business School here in the UK, via flexible learning. Now I have a 14 week wait for the final result, and a long wait (May 2011) until graduation! This really feels like a terminal degree for me (and my wife and kids!), although I may do a few specialist management courses. I've enjoyed the occasional dialogue on this board, and I'll stick around here and offer advice on UK MBAs when required. All the best, Dave C.
Congratulations on an outstanding job! Those 14 weeks of waiting will seem like forever but the end result will definitely be worth it. Enjoy this major accomplishment.
Welcome to the dime-a-dozen...I mean MBA club. Take a break and enjoy the accomplishment and spend some time with your family. I'm guessing very few people lay on their deathbed wishing for some extra time to finish that PhD. Congrats.
Thanks for the kind comments guys. My head hurts just thinking about a doctorate, can't see that ever happening!
Money. I was offered a 3 year assistantship which paid tuition, healthcare, and a (albeit small) salary. Quest for knowledge was somewhere in there too.
Congrat's! You should be very proud of all you're hard work. Not only hard work, but the fact you stuck with it 4 1/2 years.
Dave - Belated congrats on finishing. I really envy you because I've just completed stage 2 at Henley (returned last week from my stage 3 workshop in lovely Henley-on-Thames). So yes - my management challenge/dissertation is next. Time to panic??? Drink heavily??? Both??? I've had a great experience at Henley so far. Fantastic learning experience and I love the fact that I've been able to focus so much on my own company. And my classmates are great - amazing how much we have bonded given we only see each other in person once a year. Having said that, even after three visits I still haven't learned to: - not eat so much (too much good food!) - STOP pushing the buttons on the magic coffee machines so many times each day - say 'no thanks' when one of my classmates ofters to buy the next round in the pub After three visits I am also still fastinated by all of the bunnies that run around the campus. Anyway - congrats again. I know the special pain of the Henley marking wait. I hope the months pass quickly and I'm sure you'll do great!!!
