I first found this board in 2003, and used it to find an on-line school that met my particular needs. Since then I have completed 4 graduate certificates, 2 master's degrees, and 1 doctorate degree 100% on-line. I love the on-line format, worry about it being the right experience for students, and have said a couple times that I would do everything I could to herald the success of DL both as an education medium and the success of the people that pursue their education using it.

I have disagreed with many of you (and continue to :) which is fine, that is the point of our societal structure and what makes our country, this format, and this board inspirational.

I am saying farewell because I must change the nature of my involvement as I now have a vested interested in one particular school, so am no longer completely 100% objective (as of course I have been in the past)!

I will check in from time to time when invited, but strongly encourage degreeinfo members, and of course especially Aspen University students, to contact me at [email protected] with whatever is on your mind.

I elected to take this position because I can tell you that after spending some time with the Aspen Board of Directors, Aspen Faculty, and time with the Administrative Staff, Aspen University is in terrific shape and poised for growth like never before! It is a University with a wonderful past and exciting future!

See you on the other side.

Hi David - Congratulations on your new position. It's always nice to hear the success stories. Thanks for giving us the contact info too but I hope you drop by often. Your position shouldn't be a problem as long as people know. There are lots of people here who built in biases about specific schools. In any case, best of luck at Aspen.

Aspen University isn't [regionally accredited] in the United States. It's fine to purchase a degree from an unaccredited school, but the buyer should be aware of the limited utilities of such a degree. Caveat Emptor.

    That was a good quote!

    Best of luck!

David, congratulations on your new job. I wish you and Aspen success.

I agree that you don't have to discard thoughts of posting here, although you may post at a different "level". I'm thinking of our estemed members Anthony Pina, Rich Douglas and others who do have a professional, public persona (and are up-front about their connections) but still contribute.

DETC accredited institutions may not be RA but they are legitimate as it goes without saying ...don't know if MeAgain is just joking, yanking your chain or trying to cause problems. Buyer beware is a good sentiment regardless of whether you're talking about Harvard, Duke or Aspen.

Is Aspen University discriminating against DoV (Marine Corps and Navy)?

"Aspen University appreciates the dedicated efforts of our men and women in the U.S. armed services. To express our gratitude we are offering tuition discounts and additional savings for Graduate and Undergraduate programs.

    * Please Note: Students must provide a copy of their military ID or DD214 at the time of their application in order to qualify.

    These savings are available to:

Active United States military (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserves)
All Veterans of the United States military
    "
Also, is Aspen University seeking for regional accreditation likes WGU, Ellis, and AMU?

send me a link to where you found the above and I will get the wording corrected, we OBVIOUSLY are not going to selectively serve elements of our armed forces, speaking as a military veteran myself, we serve them all with great pride :)

Congratulations & good luck! Sounds like a really exciting opportunity!
I personally believe that the brand "Aspen University" has the most marketing potential of all DETC institutions. But the challenge is of cause living up to the Aspen expectations ;)
