Gee, I wonder whatever happened to that other guy . . . :D

But seriously, I agree. Notwithstanding that rodmc necromanced an ancient thread, once Johann exposed his connection with the school he was shilling for, rodmc immediately went on my shit list. (I can't say his own combination of degrees surprises me - three from Ashworth, an RA counseling masters from a Pentecostal school, and an Ed.S. from a mediocre school like Northcentral.)

Those who have had any connection with a school they puff, even as a student or graduate, owe it to everyone to disclose that connection. Early on in the dialogue. Not to do so is sleazy, even if the writer has no fiduciary interest in the position he or she is advocating.

I think that anyone who reads my post will agree that I did not attack the pharm tech program. I chose it at random and asked a simple straightforward question regarding outcomes. If you're going to wilt under this much heat then you might as well retire now because I've only begun to ask questions. You can continue to be evasive and defensive but that only tends to confirm people's worst suspicions. As for your 100% pass rate on the pharm tech cert exam . . . I don't suppose there's a way to confirm that number, is there? We just get to take your word for it?

We file a verified report each year with our accreditors and the State concerning national exams and completion rates. Reporting is verified by our accreditors. I guess the future will reveal whether you are right wrong. Me, retire? Now that is funny. After 20-years of working in education, I have plenty of steam left to go another few decades.

You see? That wasn't so hard, was it? It's a straight simple answer to a straight simple question. Now all you need to do is say the name of your accreditors. You see I thought that was the point. The Pharm Tech program is unaccredited, right? So there are no accreditors yet. Or did I miss something? Maybe you meant "our prospective accreditors?" Which accreditors are we referring to here?

That is true, and many do so without paying a prep program. I don't really have a problem with these certificate programs as long as they aren't charging thousands like the medical assistant programs do, but some students enroll only because they're unaware of the fact that schooling isn't required to become a pharmacy technician.

    Whoa . . . this numb-nut probably doesn't know who Michigan J. Frog is.

Nonetheless, Rod is an easy qualifier for the role of most acute right winger here - he could even out-do the late, great me again. See Rod's Twitter feed at https://twitter.com/rodmclarkson.

”Excel is certified through the College Board to provide AP® courses and is currently working through certification (accreditation) with ACE. The ACE credits serve Excel’s adult high school learners to earn dual high school/college credit. Adult learners earn dual high school/college credit while completing their diploma with the aim to transfer credits to the ACE college network. This saves learners time and money as they later enroll at ACE partner universities.”
Rodmc, what is your realistic timeline on ACE? If you can achieve this without increasing prices you will make some people very happy.

The big question in my mind, Steve, is if I place Rod on my sad list is that going to cause any conflict or difficulty between my sad list and your shit list?

Excel Education Systems will host an ACE visit this summer for course review and final approval. Excel has had many positive discussions with ACE as we move through the approval process. Excel is excited to launch many new ACE approved courses this fall. Prices will remain affordable. Course designers/instructors are SMEs and hold conferred Ph.D. credentials from regionally accredited colleges. Please stay tuned on this.

Not sure what political views have to do with anything... That's right, it's always about politics, right?

You just said that to one of the most apolitical members here - l'il ol' moi. I never talk politics, but I'm not adverse to making an occasional observation, especially when I run into a Twitter feed as politically obnoxious as yours, Rod. I don't particularly care whether you want to be on the extreme right wing or the extreme left wing - either extreme is obnoxious.

I guess I'll just have to go on finding you objectionable. I object to the way you use DegreeInfo to shill for your own business. Forget that we are not intrinsically geared toward the high school-age market. or that a few other established members have a commercial interest in what they do, you cross the line in literally being a shill.

I also object to your sense of bullshit. In your P.R. puff piece about taking over a regionally accredited career college (second message above this one), you do everything except name the college. It's a worthless piece of fluff that, once again, is not even hitting your target market.

And you still probably don't know who Michigan J. Frog is, which makes you culturally illiterate as well.

Nonetheless, I'm delighted that you have decided to once again grace us with your presence - you are, indeed, providing a great example of what not to be on a distance higher education board.

Thanks for your opinion. Concerning the name of the institution, since we have not yet closed the sale, according to the terms of the LOI, we cannot disclose the name of the institution. I am sure you know this is common with such transactions. We have MSA approval for the sale. Once the sale is complete within the next 30-days, we will post details via official press release. Then you may continue to tell the world what a bad guy you believe me to be. We will continue to serve the online community with high quality, accredited distance education services despite your disdain for me personally. : )

Rod's avoidance of answering a question directly comports with the behavior he exhibited in the thread at https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/opinions-about-a-new-online-college-with-state-approval-but-no-accreditation-yet.41072.

Years ago, I made an observation that the best con artists are those who tend to stick with the con regardless of the evidences against them. You can have them dead to rights, but they will stick to their rap in the face of everything,

My opinion, FWIW, is that Rod is a great con artist. In fact, I can't help thinking as I review the older threads in which he engages in his B.S. that he reminds me of another great con artist - someone named Sheila. (I know, that will bring back fond memories to the long-timers around here.)

But, at the end of the day, great or not, my take is that he's just another con artist who is wasting not only our time here at DI, but his own as well.

Congratulations! I hope you can keep your investors happy while at the same time keeping tuition low. The trend has been to start the gouging after accreditation. I love capitalism and I love affordable education — I see no conflict . It can be a successful business model.

Steve Levicoff, with all due respect sir, you are an idiot. In your opinion, everyone is a con-artist, and you have nothing good to say about anyone. Sometimes others are good people offering good services. Excel has an excellent reputation within the academic community and with all regulatory agencies and accreditors. Time will prove me 100% right on this.

For other concerned parties, Excel is closing sale on the college on 04-19-2019 and will communicate through press release. Excel plans to offer 21 regionally accredited college-level programs starting fall 2019, in addition to Excel’s ACE approved 3-credit courses. Excel aims to offer great value to those in need of high quality, affordable, regionally accredited online education programs.

Thank you, Phdtobe. The great thing is, Excel does not have investors. We only need to keep our students and stakeholders happy : )

    Maybe it's Stevenson

    https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/education/higher-ed/bs-md-co-stevenson-campus-sale-20190417-story.html

Ya know rod, it's not a huge thing for me but I do feel the need to remind you that shilling is against the TOS and DI is unwilling to become a billboard for your new endeavor. Please step very lightly on that path.
