another mill bites the dust https://floridapolitics.com/archives/292603-attorney-general-files-suit-to-shutdown-sham-diploma-mill-ellenwood-academy
From the article: "Ellenwood is accredited through the Accrediting Commission International group, which is known for providing accreditation to diploma mills." They said it. I didn't. IAC/ACI is the famous accreditor featured in Dr. John Bear's oft-told story: https://www.quackwatch.org/04ConsumerEducation/dm3.html
It's about time this scam comes to an end. Ellenwood has been around for over a decade. I'm surprised they lasted this long. If something seems too good to be true, it’s too good to be true. A quality education takes time and effort. Thanks for sharing.
I don’t understand why diploma mills are so popular in the USA. Over a decade-that’s a very long time.
The same reason fad diets, consumerism, etc. exist... people are attracted to the shiny thing at the end of the tunnel but are looking for the shortcut to get there. For education, if your goal is to get a job or to gain a title the risk may be worth it to the them to side step the education. The sad part is they don't realize that the value in the education is the shift of thought process, the knowledge, the skills and the value the it all brings and isn't the paper/title at the end. Another issue is the extreme lack of knowledge by hiring managers and the general public regarding accreditation.
