LOL. I don't visit this forum daily. When I do, it takes about 5-10 minutes for me to read what I want to read. I'm a fast typist. Maybe it would take someone like you a while to create that type of post. These fora are filled with egomaniacs, but only one with a GED who ended up being a truck driver has the sorriest Wikipedia entry I have ever seen. But, you're a published author. We all know that makes one an expert. Kevin Trudeau sold millions of books. He certainly wasn't a fraud and had physician-level knowledge of medicine.

Nice try, Sanantone. But I happen to type 96 w.p.m. That and fifty cents, of course, will get me the same quarter-cup of Starbucks that you can get.

I think it's a hoot that you cite my G.E.D., which took all of one afternoon with no study - and which I earned almost 50 years ago. What you neglect to mention is that I also have an RA Ph.D. And you don't. And it took me calling you on potential bullshit to get you to change your description from "Ph.D. (ABD)" to "Ph.D. (in progress)." So how long do you intend to be, um, in progress? And the sources of my degrees are public, which is more than I can say for you. Finally, I have a wiki (which was not written by me). And you?

So stop the competition - I can't be bothered competing, but if forced to do so, I will win, and you will lose. So far, your performance is pathetic. But, as always, funny.

You mean when you didn't know the common terminology used in job ads? ABD is used more often than candidate when professor positions don't require a PhD in hand. You still have to finish the degree. You're a charlatan who pretends to know more than you actually do about higher education.

I don't care if you or your only fan made that wiki entry. That is the least deserving wiki entry I've seen. You can gloat all you want about Wikipedia, but there are many without entries who are far more successful and influential than you. They'd rather have their success than your pitiful wiki article.

I haven't started my dissertation proposal because I have no reason to. Once I decided that I didn't want to deal with the tenure process, I stopped rushing to finish my degree. At this point, the degree is for self-actualization because it's not needed for my target career. I'm a procrastinator, so I'll likely finish at the last minute. Plus, you know, most people in traditional programs don't finish in less than four years. You finished your PhD just to end up a truck driver. What was your rush?

The sources of my degrees are public. It's called LinkedIn. Keep up with the times. And, you didn't get me to change anything. My signature was changed...what...a year later? You think too highly of yourself.

You're clueless when it comes to working adults attending on-campus programs. I couldn't take my last elective for a year because my work schedule wouldn't allow it. During two of the three years I took courses, I attended part-time because I was working. I applied too late to get an assistantship the first year. I received an assistantship the second year. By the third year, I didn't have enough classes to take to be full-time, and I wasn't going to take classes I didn't need to keep the assistantship.

Online options were more limited several years ago. I could have opted to do an overpriced, online program with open admissions, but I knew I could do better with my GRE scores. Instead, I elected to apply to a selective program that would give me teaching and research experience. That research experience recently got me a job offer. Not that it matters now, but I made a good choice because the program is now ranked as being one of the best in the country, and it's cheaper than Union Institute and University.

You can say whatever you want online because your reputation doesn't matter. Trucking companies don't care if you act an ass on a little-known forum.

Of everything you wrote, that is probably the funniest. Are you saying that we can see your degree sources by entering "Sanantone" on LinkedIn? Here at DI, you're merely another anonymous troll.

And one who has apparently become obsessed with me. I don't mind. With everything you wrote in the last two posts, it is obvious that you have basically become an abject failure who has done nothing but make excuses. "PhD (in progress)," my ass.

Sanantone (may I call you "san," which in some languages means without), I wouldn't be half as hard on you if you were not constantly trashing several members of this forum (in addition to me, most notably Jennifer and Bruce). But, out of mere boredom, I chose to leave the higher education profession having accomplished more than you ever will, so I can take what little heat you generate.

When I was in higher education, I taught in on-campus programs - something you may never do. And tried to help my students accommodate their needs so they would not end up whiners like you. As for the wiki, I never asked for it to exist and, if I had thought about it when it was first written, I would have had it deleted. But I neglected to do so, and it has become useful. For one thing, it's one more piece that you will never have.

Your last two posts are nothing more than an amateurish apologia (look it up). Pathetic. A whining defense of your insignificant existence. (Damn, you make it sooooooooooooo easy. Which is why I will not trash you anymore - you can expect to be ignored by me in the future, which is more charity than you deserve.) Unless you're a glutton for punishment (which is a rhetorical observation), you should learn to do the same thing - ignore those with whom you do not get along.

    But in the meantime, can you tell that I'm about to . . . Oh, shit, I can't hold back . . . It's on the way, like a massive orgasm . . .

Neither one of you should feel the need to defend your accomplishments to the other. You have BOTH done great things and your dislike for one another doesn't have any bearing on that fact.

It would save you both a lot of time if you just stopped pretending that there was any actual substance to your beef. You argue about petty things, put each other on the defensive, mock, insult, laugh and claim the moral and intellectual high ground. All of that is just a veneer for what really amounts to just a personality difference.

So as entertaining as I find your exchanges, I have to go against my selfish urges and suggest that the two of you just give it a rest already.

The small number of people on DegreeInfo can read my posts; millions of people on LinkedIn can see my profile. Several forum members more tech savvy than you have found my profile.

I have no obsession with you. You're the one who responded to me and made personal comments about me. We were having a discussion about edX. All you do on this forum is troll.

And, LOL. I've never taught in an online program. I taught in one on-campus program as an instructor and at my university as a doctoral teaching assistant. I've said many times for years that I no longer have an interest in teaching, and I have never pursued a full-time job in college teaching. Shows how much you know.

What's pathetic is the only thing you constantly brag about is having a PhD from an open entry school that let you design your program from scratch. You're at retirement age, and you've spent many of your last working years truck driving. There's nothing wrong with truck driving, but there's nothing special about it either. I'm pretty sure that I'm half your age, and I would be sad if I ended up like you ---an elderly person trolling on forums because he's bored. What a pitiful, lonely, old man.

I didn't trash Jennifer. Jennifer always gets upset when I challenge her misinformation. The funniest part was that she linked to a job search that proved her own claim wrong.

He's just mad because he's able to run everyone else off. I'm not intimidated by his facade and bullying. He's pretending that he's laughing, but look at him run off because he couldn't finish a fight that he started.

Don't sweat it, San, Steve will be back.

This is some of the best trash-talking ever. The great thing about it is it's two very bright individuals who simply refuse to back down and aren't intimidated at all by high art insults, and also (fortunately) refuse to resort to pure ad hominem and invective. Of course, I didn't say no ad hominem or invective, but when they do use it, it's almost poetry--and funny as heck. So much more fun to watch this unfold than the typical rants you see in the comments sections of Fox News or the Washington Post or what have you, that junior high, locker room name-calling from the people on the right and left who just refuse to think.
